Here is my second attempt at a pneu-mag.

All complete, tested and ready for the next step.

Anodizing......going with a green / gold dust acid wash already have the quote from GBA. Shoud be sending it in a week or two (need to save the money :D).

Damn you, you just had to beat me to it. Ah well, my z-grip is still imaginary anyway. I was actually thinking earlier today that it would be awesome to have a y/z gripped pnuemag and it'd be a dream to shoot.

Good job though, looks nice (albiet a bit funky with an x-mag body and no battery).

actually, I think that it looks great. The Z grip seems to just fit the Xmag body and flow with the lines of the lower part of the body. GOOD JOB

I hear everyone talk about the Z/Y frames amazingness, but I seriously think if I were to ever shoot one, I'd be holding the gun directly at the ground. I guess it's one of those things you just have to hold in real life to understand.

Either way, that 'Mag is hotness! MOTM? Eventually?

yea, just put your forearm vertical and close to your body and then look at your wrist/palm, the z-grip fits perfectly in it. if it was a .45 you'd have to bend your wrist all goofy. its made for tight setups, not long, tippmann/spyder/stocked style setups.

Same here. I was hoping to be the first to make a pneuzmag, but there go my delusions of grandure. Oh well, I'll have a competitor in two or three months.

I understand that, I still think it would just feel funky.

I guess I'll just have to try one one day.

Well, if no one works on one for a while i can be the first to make a y-gripped one, although i'm sure someone has beaten me to the punch already.

the zgrip was designed when everyone and their mother used drops to bring the tanks as far in as possible.. when that was done, everyones wrist was all scrunched up uncomfortable - the zgrip helped combat that.

nowadays, the more popular setup is a longer/streteched out setup.

to each their own, though. good job.

z grip certainly allows the hose to go towards the back instead of going to the front near the foregrip.

Nice! Where'd you manage to get the xmag body? I expect to hear a good story behind it.

Also, do you have pics of how you managed to mount the valve? The mounting of the fabco was the hardest part of my two bushmaster frame pneumags.

Sorry, that was my first pneu-mag :D
 I will kill you one day, i hope you know that, then i will dance on your grave like a pixie with your pnue-y-grip and claim it's mine. And no one will argue.

Seriously though, you took my two favorite ideas that i didn't have the funds to do, so i'm just happy to see them implemented. Great job on it again. I do hope you have a good story behind how you got the body, like you had to trek across vast mountains and such, then breast feed a gypsy baby to get it (sorry, i'm tired and out of it and it's slightly amusing to me).

The mounting of the fabco was the hardest part of my two bushmaster frame pneumags.I know that this is almost sac-religous but I disassembled an X mag. I just figured I would have the lowers match anno'd one day. I thought that this idea was to cool not to do, even at the expense of an X mag.

I don't have any pics of that specifically, I can take some for sure. What I did was use a very small piece of aluminum angle and bolted it to the inside using countersunk holes and flat head socket screws. If you look very closely you can see the very top of the 2 nylok nuts holding the angle. If you would like I will try and get some more detailed pictures.

:spit_take only minus the laughing.

I dream on owning an xmag, and you just disassemble one, how horrible.

Though it is your gun to do it to and as long as you still have the lowers it's not bad. Still say good job.

You know, i've always thought that the z-grip looked more comfortable, and i liked the one i held, the y-grip seems like walking would be weird, since it doesn't follow the flow of the frame.

i think you might be right about the Z grip, it seems like it's angled too much. I love my Y-Grip however. other guns with 45's or 90's just feel weird to me now.

It will be going to anodizing in a week  :headbang:

Can't wait! This will be my first custom anno'd gun.

Could start a trend :D
