okay well I didn't finf it at a paintball field but you might. His name is Oscar and he is probably about 6 months old. One of his back legs doesn't work very well so we are taking care of him. He's not the cutest fella but he is very friendly. he's our 5th possum we've raised but hes the nicest :D

No flame intended but I would never take in a stray Opposum, who knows what kind of disease that filthy animal is carrying.

We raise baby squirrels not dumb old opposum :p

Anyways, you could tell if it has a diease, and usually you keep it in a cage for a week or so, and monitor it. After a week, any diease it MIGHT be carrying will be exposed, otherwise he's clean. :)

we've had him almost his whole life and we had him checked out at the vet. He had no diseases and they can't even get rabies because they are marsupials.

Dude, that is soooo cool!!! I used to rescue Possums when I lived in San Diego. We were with a non-profit organization called Project Wildlife that rehabilitated possums. I can dig up some old info for you if you need it...like what they eat, how to handle them, etc. By the looks of that one, it is an adult. When you move around it...just be careful and move slowly, cause they bite hard!!! ( :) ) The cool thing is, they can't carry rabies, because their temperature is a few degrees lower than what it takes rabies to survive, so if he bites, no prob, it'll just hurt:)

I agree that penguins are cool. I really don't like the kids that TRY to shoot at the birds with their paintball guns. It's really dumb and when they hit one it's just cruel. I personally shoot squirrels with a bb gun to keep them out of our attic. I think 2 rats and 1 squirrel have died in there.

Seriously though, I love animals, always have, my parents used to have a pair of raccoons that they rescued from a house that was being torn down. They were the shiznit.

They also had a ferret. One time my grandma came over to see it and asked if it bit, of course my mom said that it didn't. But what do ya know, a few seconds later, my grandma lifted up her arm and the ferret was dangling off it.

Ahhh, good times.

That scaly (sp?) tail freaks me out though.

Penguins are cool. (pun intended) They also are in the warmer climates. I am in New Zealand right now and you can find Adeli penguins here. When I am in McMurdo we have Adelis and Emperors....They aren't near as big as people think.

There is a dog at my field and he always has colored blotches on him. I never really thought about it but I think they're paintball splats:confused:. I don't know about opposums but racoons are the collest, except for the diseases.
