I just put an empire rail kit on my timmy, but I'm not sure if I want to stick one on my e-mag. What do you guys prefer, and what do you think are some of the strengths and weaknesses of each option?

Use what your comfortable with...I do notice that rails allow you to stable the gun better with you arms more outreached (for lack of better description) which in turn improves form..

Make since?

I vote for both. It depends on the gun I'm using it on. I have a huge drop forward on my Impulse, but I have a NDZ rail and EZ Turn on a couple. On the Logic frame you can slide an EZ Turn directly to it's rail. I think it's more about how the set-up feels. :)

Ya it does. I noticed with my timmy that my grip seems more solid than on my e-mag, but I'm still thinking about it. Thanks for your advice.

I like drops... I just like being able to have the gun closer to me and not have to extend my arms any farther than necessary.

Just my opinion though.

I would say rails just because its easier to tuck in your elbows and you don't have to crank your wrist. Plus as was mentioned it seems to give a more solid grip to it.

Both and Pie :p

I use both drops and rails. In addition, I am quite fond of pie :D

drop with Y-grip :headbang:
most def. mines the tightest thing i've ever shot. if i didnt have the ygrip, i'd probly get a rail. its all about how it feels. every marker feels different, and every person is likes a different feel.

I prefer the offset dovetail rail that Luke does. You can find some pics in the dealer section.

Depends on what that gun will be used for.

I know what you mean. I used to have a z-grip, but I sold it to buy my e-mag.

the only problem i have with drops is they bring my setup so far up that i cant see over my gun... and most rails i've tried arnt tight enough... the best thing i've got so far is some air america rail combined with my flatline, far foward yet not tall in the least. i'm surprised they dont make more rails like this:

Personally, I like a rail with a 45/45. It's small, light, gets the "tight" feel of drops because of the short tank, and imo, rails just look better.

bio-mechanically speaking, rails are better.. less bending in the elbow and forearm/wrist reduces fatigue, increases muscle response and allows for better tendon/digit control. argue all you want, it's the truth. its not just weird circumstance that your radius lines up with the metacarpals of your middle and index fingers (hint: shooting fingers) naturally. those are your strongest and and most dexterous fingers, especially when those bones are aligned.

i used to think big drops were cool because it allowed you to "play tight". then I started using a rail and now i can actually hit what i shoot.

Sorry, I lost track of this thread for a while. I think that I'm going to keep my e-mag dropped just for looks, but I put a empire rail on my timmy.
