What is the deal about these? Are they good? I'm looking into new asa's and I don't like drop fowards so I started looking at rails. Is it easy take off and put back on rails, and the asa's that go on them?
One of my guns has a cradle mounted asa and it's a major pain to take it apart.

Thanks.

They are very user servicable, they do their job and hold your tank in place. Usually 2 screws hold the rail to the grip, and the asa could be held in place by ball bearings and/or small set screws that are on the rail that expand it so the ASA dosent move.

What drop fwd were you using and what was giving you trouble about it?

My experiences with rails and ASA's are CP direct mounts, CP rail + ASA combo, DP RAPS Rail+ASA

i like the hybrid push button asa and the hybrid rail, they both work great and very easy to take on and off.

what jay is trying to say here people is... send your frame to him and he'll hook you up with built in rail milling.

Take a look at the smart parts S rail though. teeney bit forward, minimal drop.

with the frame milling how does the asa stay secured to the frame....are the screws internal?

They are "rails" which is short for accessory rails. Dovetail would be a description of the rails' profile. Much like Picatinny rails are not called "Picatinnies" because even though the Picatinny is a specific profile of rail it is still a rail. ;)
