Okay, so I got to thinking I want to add and ACE to my Emag it should be easy to do there is already a provision for it on the main board all I need is the ACE board and have the rail/body milled for it.

Do any or you guys have the manufacturer and part number for the "eye" that is being used on the Xmag? I am an electronics engineer, and I have access to all types of resorces at work.

I think this is one to talk to Zupe or the AGD tech department about. They should have that info archived somewhere.

However "...all i need is the ACE board..." are the famous last words of this project. You will have to look long and hard for one as they have long been discontinued and a few x mag users are without one and looking for replacements. I think you may be better off building your own.

What I ment by "... all i need is the ACE board..." was that I need to creat my own..

Do you have the ACE working in that Emag?
Did you have the body milled for it?

Okay, so the ACE board mounts to the grip frame and a hole goes through the rail and body?

Can you guess I have never seen a Xmag in person...

If you need to borrow an ace board I have one you can use. It does not work, and the eye has came unsoldered from the board (I am assuming that is why it does not work), but you may be able to at least see what components are on it. LMK if you need it

Have you looked at this?

I can take other pics if you'd like.

I might take you up on that.

I just read through a post from last year talking about making a run of these boards, but the guys who was going to do it, didn't.

I know I can do this create/fix ACE boards this is not a hard task I have a lot of connections to PCB manufactures, and I design my own schematics and boards. I also have acess to ever component under the sun, to fix these.
I really want to do this for AO, but like other post in the past have asked, is it worth it???

Oh, some post mentions break beam vs. reflective and that you cant have both because of the signals being different, that is not true, I can make either work.

Who is going to Tunaball, I want to talk to you guys about this in person, since I have never owned an Xmag, and I want to see the mechanicals....I do appreciate the pics though

Right, because of this.

At present this project has been put on the back burner.
I did talk with AGD and they did not want us to make the board but instead wanted us to make a short run for them. Not sure that is going to happen.

Goodluck

Actually an x mag has no rail...

It would be great to have someone producing replacement ACE boards. I guess it boils down to how much it would cost to make them. Good luck!

I am going to go down this road again and see what AGD tells me. They might be more inclined to let me do a small run b/c I am not a business, unlike APE, but who knows.
