Looking at a new lvl 10 power tube oring under a magnifying glass, you can see that it has a pretty rough surface where they removed the mold seam. I put some automotive polishing compound on a stainless rod that was a little larger diameter than the inner diameter of the oring and ran it back and forth for about fifty passes (finger length) and cleaned it up. The inside appears much smoother, but not flattened.
I was thinking this may help the inconsistencies you get for the first few cases of paint with a new oring. I won't get a chance to try the polished ring out for a while, so I was wondering how many people have tried this out.
