I can't wait until the airball fad is over and corrugated comes back "in".....
Remember those cool space ship looking 50's?
The sound of all hell breaking loose off the break?

....ah....

I am with you on that. It is harder to find "fat man bunkers" on an airball field.

I know what you mean. On my field, the hyperball field is made up of thick plastic panels around PVC frames. When the ramping starts, the bunkers "sing", and smurfs cringe

Plenty of fields still have those types of bunkers.

The Velocity Summer Series is played on those fields.

SC village still has those fields.

yea i loved the ol hyperball, and other concept type fields that were so popular at early tourneys.

weve looked into it, the stuff just isnt cheap unles you can find enough scrap from a large project.

Well, here in Georgia, there are a lot of Carpet mills. And the yarn is shipped on these thick plastic pallets. About 3.5 ft x 4 ft. Just perfect for little paintball fields to piddle with. And, the best thing is that they will just give it to you, just so you will take it away :D

the tubing can also get gunked up very quicky depending on the type of paint and temperatures in the area.

and its not usualy very UV protected, though it usualy still last a good amount of time

My home field has the "Barrel Field" 95% 50 gal drums. There is no possible way to communicate on that field once the paint starts to fly.

I looked at trying to get my home field to build a hyperball field. The problem was every estimate i saw for a hyperball field started at 10 grand. While you can pick up a speedball field for a little over 2.

I hate hyperball.

I always manage to get shot through the openings between the tubes. It never fails.

I hate hyperball. played a pump tournament on the worst possible hyperball field possible. Basically the other guys were shooting hellfire.. so if the tip of your bunker got shot and you werent all the way it, it still counts, because you have eighty-billion square inches of splatter all over your lense that wont come off anyway..

i really liked the different field designs and 'creativity' of the hyperball fields. airball is becoming all the same.

my field has a hyperball field and a spoolball field(made mostly of huge plastic chemical drums)

hyperball is fun but the bunkers on that field are at most 1 foot and 1/2 wide

I've only played hyperball once and there were only like 4-5 people per team. It was really fun and I was doing great until my new regulator decided to "break in". Hard to get people out shooting 150fps.

So true. Lots of splatter in hyperball, but I like it anyway. But all everyone around here wants to play is airball. At least airball is growing on me now.
