By "Hybrid" will it be an emag frame?

No

Does it even look like it would work as an emag frame.

He means hybrid due to the shape and stuff.

Yep, hybrid as in "between 45 and Vert".

This is a mech frame.

This is a pre-production prototype. You have a few months yet to save up your pennies. I wont have any specs until it goes into production.

when is the preorder?

There is no pre-order. This will be a normal stock item.

The only time I do a pre-order is for another companies product that Im required to order a minimum quantity and need confirmed orders. Or for one of my products that I plan on retiring or already retired, but folks say they want more. A pre-order is an accurate indicator of true demand that allows me to make exactly as many as buyers want.

Your guess would be wrong.

The RPG Triton, and the RPG Chimera meet AGD specs according to Tom's(AGD) requirements. So they both meet the specs that AGD feels are necessary. The only approval aside from the customer that matters when making products for Automags.

Thanks for the question though, it has allowed me to 'nip this in the bud' for anyone else who may be wondering the same thing. ;)
That's cool. I never knew that. I never doubted you, because I'm sure Tom would've snapped in if they weren't to specs as you were/are advertising. Just never knew what exactly had to be spec'd.

Yea...i figured as much. :( How i long for a vert frame though!

On a side note, why would it be so intensive, and expensive? Seems just like milling out a grip frame for a mech to me....but maybe im missing something? Assuming one keeps the "guts" from an emag, why would it be so hard? Im not trying to be rude...i really am curious. PM me if you have a minute. I alsways enjoy learning new things!

The internals have been configured to fit precisely in an E-mag frame. Changing the angle of the grip would require a complete re-work of the internals. Even if it were possible, the amount of time and effort to do this properly makes it quite labor intensive, and therefore expensive.

Purchase a Chimera Vert Frame from someone if you dont already have one, take your E-mag internals and try to configure them inside properly. Take a pic so I can see what you come up with. The project should satiate your curiosity, and youll learn some new things!

Not to mention the E-mag internals require a battery the size of the one on the e-mag.. so for starters you are stuck with that e-mag foregrip. Second, the e-mag board is literally build around the solenoid at a specific angle. I mean ya, theoretically a triton frame *could* be milled out inside - but it would have to have the same angle for starters. It would also have to have the same location available for the noid/sear aseembly, hall sensor...

Ninjeff
07-15-2007, 01:53 AM
That what i was saying above. I didnt know the solenoid had to be at a specific angle. Im new to emags so you'll have to cut me some slack. After he mentioned it to me i took a look inside my emag again and tried to visualize a non-uncomfortable way of fitting that in a vert frame. Short of having gigantor hands something like that would be terribly uncomfortable for the average joe. As for the battery pack, i dont mind it, and think a vert frame would look killer with it. But i can now see the limitations. Sorry Rogue i didnt mean to hijack your thread. Thanks though for the reply.

Well, as many of you may have noticed....Im a bit behind. Some miscommunication with my vendors about delaying the frame until Matteusz sold all his UMF's has caused me to be a 2-4 weeks behind. My bad, my mistake.

I do however hope to have something for you real soon.

A few details I can give you:

~ Choice of style of grips will be an option
~ Choice of triggers will be an option

Im considering a run of dust black frames. IF there is enough interest. If there is enough interest for dust, it will be a 1-shot deal. Dust blacks will not be a normal stock item.

I have some wooden grips that fit my Intelliframe. Is the Triton similar enough that they'll fit it, too?

Also, the trigger guard looks like it comes just as far down and forward as that of the Intelli. Is that true, and if not by how much?

The shape of the trigger guard is similar to the RPG Chimera Vert frame. Here is a pic showing the difference:

I wouldnt have any clue whether your grips would fit or not. You are more than welcome to ship them to me to see if they do. The cost of shipping them to and from is yours.
Fair enough. Few questions about a more standard grip, then; the Triton will accept Dye Stickies like the Intelliframe, correct? I notice the Triton has a bend at the forward bottom part of the grip - would Stickies stop before that point or stretch over it? Is the lower grip screw on the Triton farther from the bottom of the frame than that of the Intelli?

The shape of the trigger guard is similar to the RPG Chimera Vert frame. Here is a pic showing the difference:
[pic removed]
Well, I don't have a Chimera so I don't know how that fits on my marker. When mounted on the marker, is the positioning of the Chimera trigger guard the same as if I had an Intelli on there? Will the front section of the Triton's trigger guard meet the rail at the same place as the Intelli's? Looks to me like the only difference in trigger guard size/position will be that the Triton's guard drops down a little further.

All frames will come with the trigger of choice. Cost of the frame will be determined by the choice of options. When pricing is released, it will all make sense.
Yes, but if I wanted to preorder a dust black frame with a matching dust black Viperblade, do you have any you could ano in dust black with the frame or do I have to pick from the Viperblade ano choices you have in stock?

I guess I should have worded my questions more carefully, since I'm 0/3 on the info I wanted. ;)

No problem, lets see if we can get your questions answered.

Fair enough. Few questions about a more standard grip, then; the Triton will accept Dye Stickies like the Intelliframe, correct?

Yes. Both the Intelliframe & Triton accept Dye Stickies.

I notice the Triton has a bend at the forward bottom part of the grip - would Stickies stop before that point or stretch over it?

Im not exactly clear on the question. So rather I will provide a pic to show the angle at which they fit. Stickies fit at an angle similar to the CCM frame, seen here:

http://www.roguesportz.com/images/gallery/HybridCockerFrame.jpg

If this still does not answer your question, then I can only suggest waiting until the finished frames arrive so I can post pics.

Is the lower grip screw on the Triton farther from the bottom of the frame than that of the Intelli?

Dont know at the moment. Dont have finished frames here, and I dont have the CAD here either.

When mounted on the marker, is the positioning of the Chimera trigger guard the same as if I had an Intelli on there?

Doesnt the pic I provided of the Chimera frame on top of the Intelliframe answer that question?

Will the front section of the Triton's trigger guard meet the rail at the same place as the Intelli's? Looks to me like the only difference in trigger guard size/position will be that the Triton's guard drops down a little further.

The Triton trigger guard is the same as the Chimera trigger guard. The front section of the trigger guard on both will meet the rail in the same place. The pic I posted of the Chimera on top of the Intelliframe can be found in Post # 101.

Yes, but if I wanted to preorder a dust black frame with a matching dust black Viperblade, do you have any you could ano in dust black with the frame or do I have to pick from the Viperblade ano choices you have in stock?

Thanks!

Option specifics have not been released. When they are, this question will be answered.

Yeah, that's what I wanted to know. The curved section of the forward edge of the Triton grip is uncovered by the Stickies, which means my wooden wraparounds should fit fine.

Well, yes, now that I realize that was a Chimera over an Intelli and not a Triton over a Chimera like I thought!

Rogue,
I am curious, could I actually order it without a trigger installed, but with just the trigger pin? I already own a viperblade and viperblade pro, so a 3rd one is rather unecessary for me. Thanks in advance!

What's gonna be the anno choices that your gonna have for the frame, the ones that aren't gonna cost extra or is it just black? Also what trigger choices is there gonna be for it?
