View Full Version : <<<<<JULY Mag Of The Month Contest >>>>

RRfireblade

TWO DIVISIONS Thanks to our fearless Leader Tom Kaye and the enduring overseeing AO Mod staff who ponied up $$ to help cover costs of prizes (in this case t shirts) So . . .

This MOTM will also include an "Old Skool , Classic Mag competition ! ! Dust 'em off ,shine 'em up and let's see some Old Skool Mag Repp'in. Looking for anything falling under the guise of Old Skool , presumably lots of SS parts. :D but that will be open to interpretation. Could be rare , unique or just plain old. ;)

Please state which division you want to be in (Open or Classic) in case it could go either way.

Round 7! !

"MAG" of the month contest...that means MAGS of any kind, only

I want to see some kick butt mags ! ! !

I will do it every month there seems to be continued interest , voting in the last week of each month, new contest on the first-ish of each month.

Near the end of the month I will narrow it down to a Final 5 (or how ever many I think are worthy) and open a public voting poll to pick the winner for each division.

Rules:

1) Must be your Mag and NOT for sale during the month of the contest.

2) I don't care how great or sucky your pictures are, it's a gun contest not a photogenic prize.

3) 2 pictures MAX , NO GIANT WALLPAPER sized pictures....post a link if you need to. I'm the only one voting at this time so no need to 'impress' the masses....yet.

**This is the code to resize and thumbnail your pictures. Copy and paste and add the link where it says to.**

<a href="Picture URL Here"><img src="Picture URL Here" width="600" height="450"></img></a>
If you can't figure out how to host your pics , I will get them hosted for you.

FYI , It is to YOUR ADVANTAGE to simply post 600 x 450 or so sized pictures , they will look far better than the code resized pictures.

4) One gun entered per month

5) No text posts ...PM all questions to who ever you want to ask what ever you want to ask.

I will be judging on what I think is cool or worthy ...

I'm going to elaborate on this a little

Open Class MOTM :

Total package , as in , everything matching. Don't have a custom anno'd gun and then something silly like a mismatched feedneck clamp.

All parts in harmony with all others. For instance , if you have a CF foregrip , better be some CF somewhere else. Or like a thrasher 'type' rail w/ an Organic (DW) Body = :nono:

Uniqueness , if there are 5 DW bodied , Vert framed , X valved etc . . . you better make yours standout somehow.

X Factor. This is that intangible quality where a marker is just . . . right. Maybe it's just perfectly clean , maybe flawless flow , I don't know only that you know it when you see it.

Lastly , I'd really like to see full functioning markers , those will get priority over the same parts just stacked up for a picture.

These will be the points the will set 2 seemingly similar markers apart.

OldSkoolers :

Some of the above will apply but additionally . . .

Looking for anything falling under the guise of Old Skool , presumably lots of SS parts. :D but that will be open to interpretation. Could be rare , unique or just plain old. ;)

Prizes:

Again from KRUGER : I would like to offer a set of wood grips as a prize for the MOTM winner. It must be either 45 frame or Emag frame, and my choice of wood. I would only require a pic of the marker that the the winner wants them for, so I can judge what wood to use.

I may offer this for each month, but we will see how it goes.

Due to extended shipping costs outside of the USA , Winners outside of the US would have to cover the shipping costs however.

Airgun Designs Lion Stickers (probably a few).

New Design for 2007 ! !

MOTM/GOTM T-Shirt. It will be one size only , XL with this design on the pocket and large AGD Lions on the back .....

http://premium1.uploadit.org/rrfireblade//AO-Shirts-005.JPG

Yeah , That's Right. :)

Anything "sponsers" want to add at my discression (contact me first please)

That's it....GO ! ! !

Jay.

AGD Edit: This is really a beautiful piece and truly represents what I believe is the power and elegance of the valve system. You can make your dream come true because the valve system can fit in most any body. No other design can say that and I am surprised that more people have not caught on to this concept.

http://people.umass.edu/jtaupier/paintball/minimag/minimotm2.jpg

I guess I'd call it in the classic division, since it's got the whole Minimag vert bottle and no hopper on top thing going. Don't have much else to say about it... More pictures here (http://people.umass.edu/jtaupier/paintball/minimag/) if anyone's interested.

It has a Doc Nickle adapter for cocker barrels that would allow for 007 style coolness like this long barrel.

Gets about 15 good shots to the 12 gram.

Wow, lot of nice entries so far... :)

Here's my entry for the classic division, called The Brass Bastard:

Bigger: http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k65/FiXeL666/DSCN3243.jpg

Reason for the name is that the rail and gripframe are not AGD, and i had to modify the rail to get it all to fit. I can understand why aftermarket parts are not under AGD warranty... Features:

- Promag valve # 194 (and i have the original certificate)
- Aftermarket rail in gloss black anno
- Aftermarket grip frame with brass trigger and gloss black anno
- Sight rail in gloss black anno
- Unknown grips (grey plastic)
- Brass connections and unknown brass barrel
- Brass slide check
- Nib tourney lock
- AGD laser engraved ASA

Well, i hope you guys like it! :D

Edit: Changed pic size upon moderation team's request.

This isnt really that hard to follow now is it?? I can think of a few reasons why its in the RULES.

If you cant do the code you could at least resize your pic before you upload it to comply with rule three.

If you dont know how, cant or are otherwise unable to use the code or resize, just say so in your post and we will help you comply with rule tree. :argh: No problem.

The guidelines are there to make the thread easier for everyone to enjoy.

My entry for the classics. It's almost the same as Warlord's mag. It came a long way since I got it. Came with an A5 i bought, A5 was out of the door within the week :hail: :hail: . It's a work in progress, and it's far from done. It's a 68 automag valve. It never had any stars. Valve # CF10188

It's got the

Splashed Rail
Splashed Gripframe
Splashed Tourney Lock
Splashed Power Feed Plug
Splashed Bottom ASA
Black Powdercoated Body (right powerfeed)
Half of a Viewloader Regulator to give it a nice grip. Came of the VL Maxis RG, my first marker. ;)
Black Plastic Grips

Internaly
6 hole mod in the valve.
My trigger rod is a nail, donno why, came that way. :tard:  .

<a href="http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k20/THA_RAT/DSC05973.jpg"><img src="http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k20/THA_RAT/DSC05973.jpg" width="600" height="450"></img></a>

I use a remote directly to the valve, toghether with a stock to make it lighter. So no hoses.

I am looking for the splashed barrel if it exists. So if anyone knows about one. Please contact me.

@ Fixel: Je mag toont klasse, niet flitsend. Maar heel rustig en netjes, vind 't vet. Ga je naar Mahlwinkel in september.

" This Xmag has been through a lot to get where it is today. It had a previous owner and was Milled by A+. The previous owner came up with most of the milling but I added a a few myself such as the X and took away a little more from the sides. Before the silver/red anno, it was Annoed Silver with Milled spots of rare metal color so it needed a new anno anyway. I sent it back in to get Annoed Red/Silver/red (Barrel,Gun,Drop) and also added the little X on top of the gun for fun! This gun was tuned By tunaman and we went through a lot to get this beast all ready. I then decided to throw on the Red Xvalve considering the Euros had the Emag valves. Only thing this Xmag will need is Tuna's new Blade Trigger which i plan on purchasing in the upcoming month. "

If I recall correctly from seeing pics in progress on this one over on MCB, the request was for something similar to what your rails were like Luke. I think that Mag is a Rainman job start to finish.

Luke origanly I wanted you to do the pump and the RT-1 milling, but you didn't do the pump mag body/arm rail milling. I let rainmann229 do the whole thing to avoid delay in putting it all together. The milling is close, but no potatoes compared to the RT-1 which what I really wanted :( .

I really didn't think it was mine because there were a few things I normally do diffrent than what was done on that. It's just that I've done so many diffrent variations of the RT-1 that I wasn't sure. ;)

Very nice marker.
