Hey all,

So I got bored today and decided to finally make a pump handle to match the grip I made a month ago. Made from mahogany. Left handed too. Hope you like it...

WOW, very nice. Bet it fits like a glove. How about pics of the back of the frame, would be interested in seeing how you fit the grip to the frame.

It fits better than a glove lol. I didn't mean for the parts to look like anything, I just made them to fit my hands as comfortably as possible and I just figured form would follow function.

Since you asked...The grip is a solid piece. I milled out the "pocket" first. Since this was so critical I did it when the piece was still a rough block of wood...

I then made a tool to find the center of the hole for the mounting screw. I just took a 1/4"-20 grub screw and threw it into a drill press, and went to town on it with a file. It worked well enough...

And it's simply mounted with one long screw...

You might be interested in how I mounted the pump arm. Necessity is the mother of invention...I just didn't feel like making a new longer pump rod so I used the existing one...

Neither piece took me that long...it's nice not to have to worry about strait lines :)

Nice?

No offence, but they look like a literal piece of pooh on a stick lol. The shape, not the workmanship lol.

Jaan, you dont need my aproval. What you have done, only you could do for a perfect fit. There is no way that I could do as well as you and fit your style of play. Free form is the bane of my existance as a grip maker. Right angles are my bread and butter and I know my limitations. If I could do what you have done, then I would be rolling in the dough from the orders that I could get from "other" forums. You did a good job and I think that they look "right", if you get what I mean.

how long did it take you to make them? Not long actually...from the time I decided to get up off the couch, to the time they were on gun about 2 hours each.

In fact, I'm thinking of re-doing the grip to more of a Y-Grip style :)
