View Full Version : The Infamous AGD Gun Case- Will You Buy It????

AO,

There have been requests recently about bringing back the famous (well now it's famous) AGD Gun Case. We got it because it made more sense to us to put your whole marker in the case in one piece. The trend went toward taking everything off and putting it in a backpack. I don't know where it's going now but your asking for them. Well here is a pic and I got a price. IF we can pre-sell fifty of them we can sell them for 95 bucks, if our price is still close to the same. Before I jump through hoops how many people will absolutely buy one? I am using this as a test for the Z-Grips, you say 50 and you buy fifty we are going places.

The interior size is 27 x 12 1/2 by 6" deep. They are hard lined with a soft outer canvas shell and will fit a whole warp and rev on the gun as shown.

You want 'em?

I will buy one for $95.

P.S. Thanks again for the warp.
P.P.S. You're still invited to the Detroit meet at the end of the month. ;)

I like those, alot better than the overcrowded backpack Im using now.

Let's see $95 bucks comes out to less than 10% of what I got in my gun, tank, etc. and keeps it from getting banged around. Sounds like a cheap insurance policy to me!

Sign me out for 1 please !!!

Tom- Maybe you should edit your post that it holds 2 EMags with Warps, Revs, and Tanks attached! This case is a beast!

I think I could be pursuaded (sp?) to buy one of those:) . It realy depends when they go back up for sale cash is a little tight right now but Ya if I had the chance I would jump all over that!!!

I'll buy one! Although I'd buy mine in like Febuary or March though. I think they could stand to be a little bit smaller though, I don't need to fit two markers. BUT THOSE ARE GREAT !!

ENDO!

Sorry, I honestly can't say that I'd go for one of those at 95 bucks.

Hey Tom, are these gonna be the old ones, or new runs?

Personally, I'd want a slimmed down version of that one. Maybe it's just the pictures, but the case looks pretty beefy for most people's setups.
I would want egg foam on all sides of the case, including the 'lid', to keep it all snug inside (and stop from moving around).
Cut it down in length so that you could just fit the marker and a close set tank in there (one instead of two).
Plus maybe some barrel pockets on the 'top' and 'bottom' sides of the emags, inside the case.

On second examination, you can put me down for 10 of those cases... IF they include two fade emags, two warps, and a revvy ;)

I'd be interested.
For those of you who think the price is a bit steep:

Compare the price of these to the Planet gear bags at $99.99, or the Extreme Rage gear bags at $159.95 at paintballgear.com.

I would prefer something a little more square that would hold a single mag with tank, warp, and revy. As already mentioned, integrated barrel holders would be great as well.

Guys,

We're not going to be designing a new case here. This is going to be a limited run of these cases to see if people really want them like they say they do. Chances are they won't even sell 50 of them so it's a lost cause. If they sell like hotcakes, then I could see there being some changes in design or different versions of the case, but there's no sense in trying to design a new case and then only getting 25 orders for them...

Put me down for one.

I think, it should hold only one marker (with all the equipment like Revy, Warp, Nitro ... ).
If I get a new marker, it gets it´s own case. ;) If I will take two marker to my field, I will carry the two cases! A good thing would be, if the foam would be like in the pelikan cases a "cubed cell" foam.

original from LouisV in the pictures thread:
... The Pelican case comes with 2 layers of "cubed cell" foam, a final bottom layer and a top "egg crate" style foam; therefore 4 layers of protection. The "cubed cell" foam is a series of rectangular shaped "cubes" that are perforated together. It allows you to "pick and pluck" the desired shape of the cutouts. I traced all my equip on paper and cut them out, then tooth picked the paper templates in place and began to "pluck" the little cubes out. I constantly double checked durring the process to avoid mistakes. Once I was done I sprayed 3M glue adhesive in between the 2 layers of "cubed" foam so they wouldn't come apart nor shift in transit.

here (http://home.earthlink.net/~lvazquez/case2.jpg) is a pic of LouisV´s Mag and case ...

If this would be, I definitely would buy one, and only this one ... for my milled Xtreme ;)

Yes, I'd love one of those, The only thing I haven't liked about my warp was that my gun wouldn't fit in a bag anymore. But, hey built in stand, right?

95.00 is too much for that case. I only paid 124.00 for my Pelican 1600 from cases4less.com. It is much bigger and has the pick and pluck foam to custom fit my gear. It is the same case in the pic from louis.

I dont have 95 bucks so i cant really get it, i need to save some money for those AO jersies and the Z grip, and i dont think i would spend 95 on a case no matter how nice it was...my sport duffel bag thingy does just fine for me

For $95 - No, I'd want more features at that price
For $50 - Sure, sign me up.

Worry not about these things... I'm waiting patiently for that Z-grip still.

are the zipper "fobs" big enough to run a small lock through? if not, can bigger zippers be used for this run?

black already said that a redesign wasnt going to happen, but maybe bigger zippers are an option.

lockable case: yes, sign me up
unlockable: no, ill wait

I agree with the “too much money” folks. It is not a bad case, but when compared to other options, it is just not worth that amount of money in my opinion.

Reasons:

As damageinc54 brings up:
95.00 is too much for that case. I only paid 124.00 for my Pelican 1600Very valid point. $30 more for a nicer case… no hesitation on my part. You are already planning to spend roughly $100 anyway on a case, make the better investment by adding the relatively low (in comparison) extra cash and get the Pelican. This seems like a no-brainer to me.

As Shaft stated:
For $95 - No, I'd want more features at that price
For $50 - Sure, sign me up.I agree. For the $50 it would be worth it. But unfortunately I would bet that at that price it would not be worth AGD bringing it back to life. Personally I know of several fantastic (and SLICK looking) footlockers that fall in the same $50 price range and they are “armored” and lock (both with standard built-in lock and your own lock). And foam inserts are too easy to get a hold of to even worry about.

Again, this is just my opinion. Each consumer must make that determination for themselves.

I understand the interest this generated, but I feel that those who “would” buy it would do so simply because it was from AGD.. which in itself is not a BAD thing, just not what I would do. I prefer to shop around for the best bang for my buck.. and I just don’t think this would be it. And after all this is not a bad thing either, this is a CASE not the Markers….. shoot AGD, tote and store someone else….. should not be that big of a deal.

It would be fantastic if AGD and Pelican could “hook up”… maybe offer them at reduced prices for AGD consumers? ;) Ahhh In a perfect world.

I have one that I bought years ago for my Automag and I'm currently using it for my Angel. I really like it an would definitely want another for an Extreme (hopefully the Ex will come out by the time my tax refund gets here).

As for plastic tubs, I've already got 7 of them plus other containers full of equipment - I sure wouldn't want to just toss my 'babies' into one of these. :)

This post died a long time ago but I thought I would mention that I would love to buy one if you still have any. I have been looking all over for the AGD case but I only found one on the Euro site. I don't know if this will get back to you since it was posted so long ago but I thought I would give it a try. I want something to put my newly constructed mork of art minimag in. I would really appreciate it if you could let me know if I can still get my hands on one.

I missed this one the first time through. This is pretty much exactly what I'm looking for. I'll probably end up with the Planet roller case though, tehy're sold locally. If it does go back into production, I'll order one.

Hi,

If I didn't already own one, I would say yes. Personally, don't do another run since they are rare already.

People the price of 95 is good considering AGD once sold them at $125 or 130 a few years ago. I bought myine on E bay for $85 shipped. So $95 is a very nice price forthe case.

I got mine from an automag package on ebay, it also came with a BOA concealer, so i guess I got 2 collectables in 1 :). Its actually too small for my gear since i also have alot of tools and odds and ends, so i may end up getting on of those HUGE redz bags to put all my stuff in. But im definitely keeping my case because its neat :)

07-15-2002, 10:49 AM
well it seems that you don't have enough ppl to actually make the run Tom, but I will definatly buy one.

I have so many patches and nothing to put them on! That, and i just got my lvl 10 so now i need something else to spend money on .. and the bag i'm using now does more damage to my mag then good!

anyhow, if anyone has one to sell, email me straight away, and if any are made .. i will be first in line.
