View Full Version : Do I need to boil The SFL bolt?

I've added a foamie and polished the spring a bit,but am curious what else I need to do. DOes the SFL bolt need to be boiled? Thanks.

no bolt doesn't need to be oiled.

I think he meant boiled, cause isn't it a superbolt? I wouldn't know either way...

I think you misunderstood, It wasn't a typo, He actually does mean *boil*. AGD asked those with regular superbolts to boil them (see here: http://www.automags.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=21054) to anneal the delrin. It is supposed to solve the cracking problems.

If i were you I would boil it. I got a superbolt a couple weeks ago but they sent me the sfl bolt instead of a regular one. I sanded it down and got it working with my gun and then about a week ago it cracked and i had to send it back :(

my bad, I thought you said oil the bolt...not boil the bolt. Time to get the eye prescription checked!!

As far as boiling the bolt....go for it. It will relieve any stress in the delrin.
