at this point i'm considering:

i'm looking for input, especially if anyone has tried either of these cameras before. one feature i'm looking for is a camera that can shoot video by pressing and releasing the button, then pressing again to stop. that's something thats hard to find out before actually buying the camera.

i own something similar to the first choice (or list).. I've been very happy with my Canon SD500 and I use it for Land and as an Underwater camer (of course you have to buy the underwater case for it :D )..

My cousin on the other hand own the lower end Nikon, both choices have the pretty much ahve somewhat similar features. But IMO, I Love the Canon since the fact that it has worked for me well.

Hope this helps,, :)

Check out TigerDirect as well. I picked up a HP 527 for 100 bones a few months back. I am really happy with it as the pics come out well, the video is great I think for a camera and all you gotta do is push the button to start and push again to stop... comes in handy when you are filming while riding... :D

I had a budget of $200 when I shopped and so with that camera, 10 rechargable batteries, 512 SD Card, 2 Gig SD Card, SD Card Reader/ThumbDrive, battery charger, case, and 3 year crash and burn warranty I think I came out right at 210 or so...

Plus I wanted a good ZOOM which this has 21X... 3 Optical 7 Digital... I think that's it...
