Hey ya'll,

This is the MOTM winner and is my main scenario rifle. It is a classic valved, classic rail'd mag with a 20" tactical tippe'd smart parts all American barrel. It took me four months to complete with a total project cost of {yea right} . It "was" a tokyo mauri airsoft M14 with all metal parts except the composite stock. The aimpoint dot sight is also an airsoft replica, but.... it holds up on my benelli 12 gauge 3 1/2in mag. It is extremely accurate and close to scale weight. The reciever halves are powdercoated black and the body was hand polished by me.
Every inch of this project was done by hand. No fancy mills or lathes. The most complicated machine i used was a drill press and a dremel tool. I hand cut all of the aluminum and filed and sanded for endless hours. Any more questions please ask.

Classic valve lvl 10
classic rail
old school right body
air through stock
20 smart parts all American
relocated custom bearing trigger mechanism
warp feed. not pictured

here are the pics
please ask questions
and comment good or bad.

To bad I missed this at the APE Vietnam game.

Hopefully you'll have it out there for one of the WW2 games this Oct-Nov.

Pretty please.

ummm,

Is that black electrical tape holding the front of the marker together? Sorry, I had to ask. :)

I’d like to see a clean shot of the marker with the hopper and air attached.

ummm,

yeaaaa it is...
i broke the front clip, and i cant find anyone who can fabricate me a new aluminum piece. a brand new one from springfield is almost 80$... electric tape = .99 cents. I wish it wasent there trust me... I just wish i could find somone who could make one, it dosent hold the marker together, it just holds the top heas shield snug on the barrel

ok, i jsut got done cutting the feedneck down another 1/2 inch, i will try and get a pic with the hopper, then with the hopper and warp feed on somtime tomoro or friday. The air hookup is just a remote line. attached to the nipple on the left hand side of the marker on the rear.

Cool. I’d definitely like to see it with the Warp.

jeeze and i thought i was the only one out there with any sense in their heads to construct the greatest US rifle ever using a mag. I love how u used the tube, but the only turnoff for me is that i use this thing every game, and hard. I would have to buy like 10 of them tubes to be effective.

did you get your rear reciever half from freds?
along with the stock and other parts.
maybe he will have the front clip i need....

or could you tell me where u got yours?

doc_Zox

i think you need the front band:
http://www.armscorpusa.com/Products/m14parts.html
http://www.fulton-armory.com/MAParts.htm

mine came from here but i did the longbow mod & some other work:
http://www.extremesportsandhobbies.com/m142.html

your trigger linkage must be pretty long with the marker that far forward in the stock

DARNN u paid 1300$ for one!

i could produce these, and sell them for about 700$ and make a good profit.
Yea i think the front band is what i need.

And as for the trigger, i used a fairly long solid linkage with a ball bearing connection.

Alright sorry to bring up a old post but I felt better posting here instead of making a new one. But I'm going to need the great minds of AO to help me out on this.

My plan is turn this......
http://img81.imageshack.us/img81/7011/sta70274ix3.jpg
.... M249 into a mag paint slinging crew serve machine. I'd prefer to make it a full auto (if possible with the guts of a hyper/spyder frame. From the tech sheets that came with it there is tons of room inside. I plan on using a warp body and a either a q loader or warp feed in the box drum to feed this pig.

But I'm going to need some kind of trigger linkage which has me lost. I can get some more pics as needed but I need to clean out the guts of this thing first. I'm not into this to much I bought it for about 275 with a mess up gear box.

You need to pick oily's brain on UMS. He has a ioned saw with a custom halo drum box.

But I'm going to need some kind of trigger linkage which has me lost.

I would think that if you are going to be using some type of hyper or spyder frame to control this thing, that the trigger would be very simple. Just mount a limit switch behind the existing trigger and run the wires to the board. No linkage needed! Heck, since you don't really need a frame, just a board perhaps you should think about one of those Universal T-Boards. Then you just need a solenoid to mount up near the sear to trip it.

I would love to do something like this myself if I ever find the time. Good luck with it! Make sure to post any updates!

Both M14s are beautiful.

I've seen a few Mag-into-rifle mods based on hunting rifle stocks but the workmanship lacked a bit (one was done with hose clamps and duct tape!)

I'm really surprised I haven't seen a Garand done this well - I'd do it but I'm busy with my own Mag-into-something else project (http://todd.mainecav.org/paintball/m16). ;)

The M249 came with a Drum mag which I'm planning on gutting and finding a way to mount it in there. But this project got put on the back burner till I can come up with some cash.
