so this guy wants to sell me an ion with a busted board. comes with Ion,
.688 dye ultralite with 12" tip, hybrid reg, check-it unimount, ndz feedneck and dye stickies. he said "Problems: Other than normal wear and tear, the board refuses to work anymore. The eyes work, the light flashes when you pull the trigger, the modes work, but the gun will not fire. I borrowed my friends board, and it worked perfectly. A normal board will cost you $50 for a scenario dreams board or a stock replacement board, $100 for a black heart board, or $130ish for a virtue. Because of this I have taken $100 off my asking price to account for a new board"
so what do you think its worth?

almost forgot he also wrote "I will also include a parts rebuild kit, 2 extra eye wires, and supplied allen wrenches. I still have the box it came in, it just hasen't survved the test of time very well..."

Price it out based on your parts that are up grades then add $50 for the frame.

Ion: $200
.688 dye ultralite with 12" tip: $100
hybrid reg: $75
check-it unimount: $35
ndz feedneck: $35
dye stickies : $30

do you think there correct?

I honestly wouldn't waste my time with a broken Ion.. they're bad enough as it is from smart parts. I dont really think that boards just stop working, so the gun has obviously been through alot more than just 'casual wear and tear' unless smart parts guns are REALLY that low of quality
In which case, I would suggest buying a different brand of gun altogether.

Yeah if everything was absolutely brand new maybe...

I wouldn't pay more than like $125 for an Ion that I had to put money into just to make it work. (then again, for what it would cost to hook an Ion up, I'd rather just buy something better out of the box)

Go for it. For $145 it's a good deal. Just grab a T-Board for $60 and throw it in there. For about $200 you've got a decently upped Ion with a fast board.

Depends on what you want the Ion for. If you would be getting one anyways with the intent of upgrading it, go for it. If you just wanted one to putz around with, they can be had much cheaper, especially "broken". I got mine for 55 bucks, rough shape (functional but for the board), but I just want to mess with it, performance upgrades were a non issue for me. You could always try and get a stock board for it too from someone that upgraded to a different one for reasons other than replacing a dead board, lots cheaper than a hundred bucks.

ask him if he has the warranty card. if he does u can send it back for free (well shipping but they pay to ship it back to you) and they will send it back fixed.

nothing wrong w/ stock boards and you can find them for cheap since so many get replaced by upgraded boards.

They have to now, when they monopolize the market however, and shut everyone else down, its just another expense that could be pocketed instead.

$100.

You can find upped Ions being sold for next too nothing because they need ""Money""

and the resale on Ions are pretty bad. So you have some room to haggle with the guy.

U give me $200 and I'll let you give me an ION!! :D

IONs arent worthless,.. but I hate to see a gun OVER-glorified such as this one is at my local fields.

Its a paintball marker. With some goods and bads like all others.

Ive heard good things about the ION after you change out some internals and such.

May want to pick it up for a project gun if you like to tinker with stuff.
