So my friend let me borrow his new SLG to install the trigger for him. Naturally I needed to see what makes it tick. :D

Wired eyes with deep wire channels to keep them safely in place.

The board and noid.

The sear.

The sear in the body. Held in place by a loose pin surrounded by the frame when assembled.

The bolt and stem that makes up the dump chamber. Note the hole in the bolt that refills the chamber.

Dye's dorky new reg threads. :tard: Hyper2 in pic for comparison.

Overall, not bad. Very simple design. Seems of reasonable quality for the price.
Feel free to ask questions.

That thought crossed my mind as well. I am wondering if that noid is sitting too far back though.

noid may be to far back, but you could do a little milling for eyes, easily with this frame... hmmm...

They probably are not releasing UL frames for them as the pancake noid is too large to fit in one. They will probably release upgrade frames (metal frames, better trigger, etc).

I suppose that for the price they don't expect you to upgrade, thus the non-standard reg threads. Thats the only bad idea (from Dye) I see at this point.

The hyper 3 really has no need to be upgraded. The hyper 2 (and hyper 1?) was based off of the sidewinder design, as I understand it. It is a very consistent regulator and definitely one of the top regs on the market. They just made it smaller, lighter and increased the efficiency of the spring stack. All the new Dye/Proto guns (SLG, PM8, DM8) use only hyper 3 threads.

DYE/Proto has already announced their plans to release a UL frame for it.

The threads allow them to slim down the width of the frame, thats is the only conclusion I can come to.

Really? Huh, must have missed that. That's going to be one fast and light gun :shooting:

Toll, it also slims down the profile and reduces weight... only by a few grams but who's counting?

OK. I've been seeing a ton of trigger questions about the SLG vs. the PMR. So here they are.

Blk/Olive = PMR Solid Black = SLG

Yes, but why? Do they feel different? I've never tried an upscale, 'dual durometer' trigger before.

That looks like it might be the easiest to convert for mag use yet and with eyes already i might just have to sell my hyperframe

I'm liking what I see. Any shoot-down similar to the ion during high rates of fire?

The comparison was to show that ANY PMR trigger you like now would be easy to convert for an SLG. Alum. triggers cut easy too. I compared the stock triggers because thats what I had lying around.
