I posted a question on my team forums that came into my head while reading the-whiteboard today and then I thought I would see/hear some intersting resaults on AO, so here I am posing the question.

but who are your paintball gods? the guys that if you met them (or have) you would be on you knees thanking them for what they did for the game of paintball.

Mine are:

Tom Kaye
Bud Oore
Doc Nickel
Tippmann brothers
and just bairly Bob Long

Ummm I think its Bud ORR.

It might be considered blasphemy to misspell your "god's" name

ElGringo

I guess mine would have to be
Charles and Evan Nelson (Nelson Paint Company)
James Hale (Nelspot 007)
And the first players of "paintball": Lionel Atwill, Ken Barrett, Bob Carlson, Joe Drindon, Charles Gaines, Jerome Gary, Bob Gurnsey, Bob Jones, Hayes Noel, Carl Sandquist, Ronnie Simkins and Ritchie White

Tom is the only true god, the rest are like hercules prior to completing the 12 labors.

Designs have come and gone, styles have passed and come again, companies have traded hands and names have sold out, but The Phantom remains constant. It's omnipresent in the sport. :hail:

Hey, why not? To my knowledge, he's never been caught cheating, he's the first pro to actually get a salary, and....well, just watch this: http://youtube.com/watch?v=RRzRHRy-fIQ

I'm glad he left Dynasty though. Greenspan and Danny Tiljack are pricks (can I say that? lol).

Ollie would have been a vaible option (in my eyes) until the Kansas fiasco

the tieing BS was completely against the rules and a cop out (OR WORSE)

according to the NPPL rules both teams shpould have been kicked out of the league
but because they are who they are, they get a "make up game" at the next event

you don't see the redsox taking a tie in game seven because they are to "tired" to play

come on are we a sport or a hobby?

Not gods, but legends in my small paintball world

Ethan Steiner, and the early members of Lockout

I am from Rochester, so those guys made paintball around my city. I watched the old trauma head vid's with them in it over and over again.... those first freeflows, they were smooth as.....

Rob Cole and the folks of GRC paintball.... that's where I got hooked to speedball...

Rocky for being the original crazy upfront hitman... back when the modern speedball format was coming about he defined what is a front player

Tom Kaye for selling markers not hype

Mel from PBX, as I hear it he left the sport in a bad way... but when I knew him he was always looking to put players first profit second.

First guy to take me paintballing: a guy that worked for my parents named Buffer

Second guy to take me paintballing and sold me my first automag: A guy who made pizza's in Reno named Raymond

Tom Kaye for making the most amazing marker I have ever shot

Lasrsktr & Loguzzzzzz for showing me how much fun being a marker whore can be.

Shrub909 & d4m4don3 for introducing me to and showing me the ways of pump play.

and last but certainly not least. My wife for never never going into the garage attic.

Rudz. He is my hero for paintball, if not annunciation.

Tunaman, because he brings the good shizzle.

Simon Stevens, for picking up the ball where TK left it.

Oh, and Don Miguel for hours and hours of entertainment a while back.
