so anyways im on my way to the DMV. im traveling down hwy 50 going west. i thought just bad T-Storms and all. anyways it was eerily calm with a dark greenish tint in the sky. i even noticed the clouds looked like white cotton balls before it got almost jet black. anywho im driving down the road when all of a sudden it just started to hail. like golfball size hail and just piss outside. i could barely see 10 feet infront of me. anyways, after about 5-10 minutes of the bastardly weather it cleared up and i thought nothing of it.

after the DMV i stopped at my dads house, where he was freaking out because the tornadoe sirens where blaring. so we turned on the news and we were watching the radar and stuff. apparently a tornadoe formed 5 miles SW of exactly right where i was on the freeway and moved NE about 15 miles crossing the freeway right where i was during the massive supercell that passed over my very head.

at that time i was a little shakin up because it was then i realized that there was a tornado literally outside my window and i couldnt see it!

so on my way home im driving down the same road i took to where i had to go, and there were houses completely destroyed, cars flipped and in fields, 2x4's sticking through roadsigns. hundreds of cops in the area, no power ect ect.

apparently as i drove past hwy KD i beat the Tornado by mere seconds to a few minutes AT MOST! i could have easily been stuck on the freeway as it crossed right over my head had i done the speedlimit the whole way and not sped.

so im clearly a little shaken up by the fact that if i was 2 minutes slower, i could possibly be dead!

here is a map with a rough estimate (from what i can tell with the info i recieved from the news and the time i remember in my car)

Yeah, there were warnings in Kenosha, just north of where i live, i found it pretty insane.

Also, first time i've seen lightning in january, i went to register to vote and to the south of me there was a crapload of lighting, in january.

yeah, I go to school at Carthage College in Kenosha and my dorm was without power for about 7-8 hours I think. One of the funnel clouds formed across the street from my building. I heard there were about 6-7 tornadoes in the immediate area. Pretty crazy stuff.....

More weird weather in WI I'm not surprised. Last year it was Thunder Snow. This year Twisters and snow. Whats next? Hurricane and snow?

Love the first pic of snow banks and and the tornado in the background. Did they classify it yet?
