Hello all,

Looking into purchasing a new gaming computer specifically for WoW and perhaps Americas Army etc etc..It needs to be around 600 so my budget is low, basically im looking for something with decent gaming componentry right off the bat.

Thanks and lets hear it!

Unless Wow or other games run on linux, he's also going to need an operating system, namely, Windows.

If the OS needs to be included in the budget, you could definitely cut back on some of the items on that list, but if not, I applaud your choice of components.

Just to kind of butt in here, what is the general cost to upgrade a current tower?

cyberpower (http://www.cyberpowerpc.com)

You can completely customize your machine here, in any price range... It keeps a running tally on your price, and good customer service...

It's at least worth a look...

Im pretty sure someone told me that lidocaine is working for a corporation, using this computer for corporate gaming purposes, and as such he should find his friend, the IT guy, in said corporation that has the corporate copy of windows that can be installed on his corporate system...

A machine to run WoW and AA? $600?

You're overspending ;) My PC which is now... jesus, 4 years old -- P4 2.8HT o/c'd to 3.something, 2048mb DDR400, 9800XT, some Asus nforce board [P4S800D-E deluxe sounds familiar?] 2x 80g WD caviar drives in RAID0, etc runs wow and AA just fine :)

I'll sell it to you for $600!

Are you talking about old AA or new AA though? The new one (I have no clue if its out yet) is using the UT3 engine and would run quite a bit better and look quite a bit better on the setup I made. Plus it allows him to experiment with other games to perhaps get him away from that stupid WoW crap.

I've been out of gaming long enough to not know there was a new AA ;)
