Looking for a typical elec-trigger schematic

Son school project, he started with PVC pipes, he's connecting to the school compessor. Now we're looking for some electrical circuit schematics showing "I think a 555 chip, cap, resistors, transistor, solenoid. performs a single shot, 3 or so BPS and 20 or so BPS. Nothing fancy, just the basic. If you have or know someone, i would appreciate a little help ...thanks in advance.

I'ved made a lot of progress. I started from scratch, and now have a 5 to 6 logic designs that work great on a simulator. I in the progress of purchasing the parts now. Will design around my son school project, which it will be using PVC pipes and tennies balls. When all said and done I will then design a PCB circuit and will be availble to anyone that may want to modified or add electric solenoid to the Paintball gun.......SOON! :clap:
