OK I'm not sure where to put this so if it needs to be moved,
by all means mods have at her...

now,
double barreled markers have been popular with those of use
that enjoy the jaw dropping "WOW" or "WHOLLY FRAK..." kind of reaction they get.

so if someone were able to offer a way to mount 2 Mags
to one grip and set up a way to trigger both together or separately,
would that be something that any of you out there would want/buy?

if yes, how much would you be willing to pay for the parts/instructions?

would you like a gun like this built for you ready to air up and shoot paint?

I've only heard of two. The gold and red one by AGD, and some random one built by a guy. Don't know how they did the sear, but it shouldn't be too complicated.

Double Barreled Badgers!
What? You mean like badger badgers? The ones that were(n't) prior art for the air-thru-frame SP patent?

well i'm not talking about Badgers.
i have several ways of doing this on paper.
one with a body + rail unibody (AC threaded barrels)
one with ULE bodies,
then there is the electro version that can shoot the guns one at a time in alternating fashion........

I'm going to be honest with ya'll.

I knew someone would post about the badgers anyways.
And I knew there could be a better and more informative way than merely saying "badger badger badger"

BUT

I'm on the mushroom mushroom!!! SNIGGLE SNAAAAAAAKE SNAAAAAKE!!

//it has to be done.

Anyhow, I would be EXTREAMLY interested in getting the electronic nasty, I've got a few idea's myself. I know jay was working on one, he had a sear system made out of titanium and everything.

LK-13 do you have the rescources to make these? Or are you just R&D?

yes i am making these.
they are part of the 13 gun build i'm doing.
i'm just contimplating making a DIY kit of the vital parts so anyone with 2 Mags
and an Allen key could well DIY in a couple of minutes.

mind you everything is moving very slowly.
i'm making sure everything is done right the first time.

i think there would be some interest but in all honesty i think a lot of the people that would be interested in it would be able to or want to do it them selves. i could be wrong though but a little thought and a few hours in a metal shop could do it easily

now with that said, doooooo it. i would buy one just cause i cant justify it but it would be cool

jay came up with a rail/sear to use two mag bodies/valves. It worked but i dont think he even put it into production.

I think double barreled stuff only has a point past being awesome if the two valves fire alternatingly. Then you can have a real 60BPS beast instead of just doubling the cost of each shot. So if you do it electronically, you'd have to use two noids (still one board, no big deal), and the sear mechanism would have to be funky. I'm going to try to think something up myself, now that you've gotten me interested! :)

you could do it mechanically by just having it so one sear dropped to a firing position before the second one. you could do it with pneumatics so the release fired one and the pull fired the other (only issue is that the release sear would almost always be down so the second shot may be slightly hotter)

electronics could do it but i think that would over complicate it when it could be done by just setting the shooting point farther back on one of the triggers (but it would be lengthened but still 1 mm more to get a second ball, but the rt may not work well then)

With the "pull and release" you'd have to deal with the PITA it probably is to be forced to fire a second shot or hold the trigger down. So it would be cool if you had the option of switching to semi. And I think the sears should both be reset when the trigger is idle, or I think the valves will be shooting different FPS's. I think electropneumatic is the best option, but it depends on how you want it to shoot.

It would be dang awesome to sit in a tank, with a scuba tank and two warp feeds, hold the trigger down and watch 60BPS come out of those double barrels. :shooting:

ya, i think unless you set it up with electronics and 2 separate solenoids, the only way to keep it on just pull would be different lengths but i dont know if that would cause problems

only thing i would say is that some one needs to machine or mold a bottom from a double halo/reloader/other force feed hoper that has 2 assemblies in one unit so it is easier to assemble, take care of, and shrinks the profile

I have another design in mind for my Dbl mag that I will get to in a few months but i would love to see yours sounds like it wiill be great. The reason i have delayed my 2 versions is because though they would be very cool, they are not something that alot of people would want to play with all the time I am staying totally mechanical and am using q loaders for mine as well My idea is to utilize spare bodies and rails that people already have to save on costs so the parts are easier to find and afford the custom part on mine is the trigger frame, trigger and panels. :D i am not making mine sound so appealing am I lol but i will post some pics when they are done and again i look forward to your work.

most of mine will be either AGD parts or off the shelf hardware so that the user can service everything on it.

one of the doubles might end up looking something like this:
http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u215/LK-13/alternatingdeckgun.jpg

I'm thinking your forearm gets strapped in between the guns
so that you can carry the weight longer.

possibly, but not quite so over the top.
i want to build guns that can be used on the field
not just to shock and amaze on rare occasions.

Just using it as a refrence, I don't think that feed system would work well on the automag

The around-forearm thing sounds cool. Though it would add cost and complexity, it would be awesome if the grip pivoted and could unlock from the around the forearm position so you could keep your elbow down and still sight down the barrels.

If your doing it electronically then it wouldn't be any worse other then some extra wire.

I think a normal nasty design would be better... but thats jsut my opinion.

a double barreled p90

I think it would be cool to build some custom designs with bolt on ability, but honestly I've thought it through and I had a mock up and it cost next to nothing.

All you would need are two mags with ult's, a metal trigger frame, aluminum stock (or any type of metal plate, about a dollar at home depot), drill, tap, dremel, screws, and a metal rod.

*remove the trigger frames
*remove the trigger pin connecting pieces (piece connecting trigger pin to sear) exposing a whole on the bottom part of the sear
*place the two mags a distance apart (enough for two hoppers to fit, less if warps or qloaders will be used) and use the metal plate to attach them (making sure to dremmel a slot for the sears)
*use drills and taps to make tapped holes for screws to attach through the metal plate onto the rails
*insert rod into the hole in the sears (where the connecting pieces were)
*dremmel a slot on the top of the trigger frame for the rod to fit through and move
*attach trigger frame, equidistantly from the two bodies, by holes drilled in the metal plate and attach with screws and nuts
*insert a nail with the flat part pointing towards the rod in the trigger frame, or insert a ram for pneumatic or epneumatic operation

voila you have yourself a double barreled mag...wait I see your point...I guess a DIY would be better for those without the tools :p

 and keep us posted

That neon green sure jumps out at ya

I'm thinking that the Green and later Red will be a re-occurring thing with the guns I'm building.

I'm thinking Red anodized air supply parts, as a tip of the hat to the Late Great Cooper-T.
and Green anodizing for some body parts.

but this is only something bouncing around inside my head for the moment.
