size dimensions of stubby tanks

Can anyone give me the circumferences and lengths of a 47cu and a 68cu stubby crossfire tanks. I'm trying to determine if the tank I recently bought is which one of the two.

I had a Crossfire 68 stubby and a PMI 48 at the same time. They were a close match in size. In fact I used a 48 ci Rase tank cover on that Crossfire 68 and it fit nice and tight. What bothers me is you say you cannot tell. Where is the sticker that was on there. It was not supposed to be removed.

Also remeber that Crossfire madea 51 ci stubby. Same dia. but shorter than the Crossfire 68 was.

There is a sticker on the tank and markings on the tank suck as the hydro date but no where does it say the size. So what you are telling me is that a stubby 47 and 68 are roughly the same size? How is this possible? Wouldn't it hold the same ammount in each? Thanks.

You'd be surprised at what a larger radius does for ci... it's not that much wider but if you stuck all that on the back, it would be around the size of a 68 again...

Can anyone give more info on the subject brought up about the tanks being the same size? Is that really true? How can I tell? If someone wants to help me decipher the markings on the tank I will tpye them up on here or post a pic or something.

Ok, the 48 ci and 68 ci both are the same length but the 68 ci is wider.

No..what I am saying is the PMI "Aluminum" 48 ci tank is the same external size as the Crossfire "Cro-Molly Steel 68 stubby tank. The Crossfire is smaller as the steel alloy can be made thinner and have the same strength as the Aluminum which must be thicker to withstand the pressure. SO they can make them smaller and lighter by using the cro molly steel. Which allows you to contain a larger volume internally while maintaining about the same external dimentions. Get it?

Keep in mind that is a 8oz HiC juice box.

Does anyone know if the PMI steel 68 is the same size as the 68 crossfire?

rhetor22--could you give me a measurement of the overall lenght of just the tank(not the screw in or anything) and the diameter across the tank? that would be all that i need, it would help a lot, thanks

I don't own or have access to a Crossfire 68 steel. I do have a PMI Steel 48 tank though. I believe it says somewhere that the crossfire is smaller than the 48, if you would like the measurements of the pure energy 48ci i'd be happy to get them for you.
