Somebody asked me this question twenty something years ago, he doesnt remember but I do. If you could have your Paintball gun do one thing, what would it be? Or what is the most important thing to you your gun has to do?

After a minute of thought I gave my answer. The reply was..... so you dont care about weight, looks, speed, profile etc, bla, bla, bla. No, no I dont. What was My answer?

Shoot straight, every time.

My mags and phantoms have never failed to do so, and I am very content with them

Shoot every ball at a constant 285 fps.

The one thing I most want my paintball marker to do is put paint exactly where I want it every time I pull the trigger. I would guess your answer was not terribly dissimilar.

Shoot every ball at a constant 285 fps.

Except I said 299.

Next question. Who has the most consistent gun and at what BPS and how do you know? I have a gun that will shoot 299 everytime at one BPS. Is there a crono that will measure FPS on 15 balls in one second?

My classic shoots pretty consistent, varies only a few fps, and my RT is the same, the only other gun that i've seen rival them was the1antichrist's 98, thing shot 275 like 3 shots in a row before it was off again.

ive seen a viking shoot 285, 285, 285, ect ect. im guessing it would do pretty much the same at around 15bps

I can verify that too it was crazy it was nice chronoing a gun that woudlnt shoot 399 then drop.... but thats another story.

With consistent big paint my Sniper will do +/-1 over the chrono.

 I remember a similar discussion taking place at one of the Big Games at PBSams once upon a time...

I still say that there has got to be a chronograph that can do this. I am betting it will be expensive, but real nonetheless.

What do you think a mag does at 15BPS? Assuming it was tuned properly, I'll bet that there is a slightly diminished consistency with a full tank, with consistency diminishing more as tank pressure decreases.

I will now attempt to locate said chrono ;)

Well, since I can't get it to make beer, I guess I'll settle for shooting consistantly.

How about making beer paintballs and shooting them consistently?

I would assume that a gun's consistency at a high ROF would have more to do with the regulators than the gun itself, assuming that it's consistent at a low ROF.

You're correct as far as i know, as long as the regulator can regulate air that fast it should shoot consistently up to that speed, so some guns may have problems, but mags shouldn't unless i've heard wrong.

I want mine to NEVER break a ball, be it in the barrel or breech.

I don't know, I would assume that an agitated loader would shake them up and cause the shell to burst. Then again, that might not be such a bad thing.

Well i wasn't too serious, but if you ever try it just make sure not to pull the trigger with your mouth on the barrel. ;)
