Has anyone ever done something where the warp is worn on you harness and you run the warp feed tubing up through the remote line? Thinking about picking one up to try... only problem is I don't like running a remote but who knows

3rd post down, the thread is all about developing a warp type backpack.

I wish I could see the pics without having to register on the website that is the Mecca of fanatics who buy into extreme marketing hype from Spec Ops and freak out when anyone disagrees with them...

OMG you got that right. I wish I had known that before I made the mistake of calling someone out over there.

Now more on topic, I think the biggest problem using a warp remotely is that the system will only lift balls something like twelve inches or so.
I know that something along that lines has been created at one point or another, but could not tell you exactly what it was. An old boss of my wife had this limited edition Angel package called "The man with the golden gun" that had a backpack that held air and some sort of loader system. It used a hose like the warp and supposedly fed from the backpack which had a space in it for something along the lines of a case of paint.
I saw the thing, but never had the opportunity to actually look it over and never saw it in operation. He claims to have used it in the woods by his house shooting with his kids and friends.
I have looked for information about it all over and have been unable to even find a trace that it did in fact exist. The marker itself was apparently a millenium edition Angel LCD, that had been plated in gold. The backpack is anyone's guess.

Specs (from the builder)

Hey there guys, I couldn't help but notice the backpack discussion going on here. I have just finished building my 3rd version of a paintball backpack. I have modified a BT4 Delta which this backpack runs with. Here are the features:

1- Backpack carries 12V & 9V Small Lead acid batteries - they run a 12V Color camera, 12V LCD screen (allows me to put the marker up and see what's happening without getting shot in the head!) 12V auto loading circuit (this uses a light trigger to refill the hopper automatically). 9V to run the 2 fans in my helmet, the loading system and hopper system.
2-Backpack also holds a HPA 68cu 4500PSI bottle running nitro.
3-Holds a total of 1100 rounds - (a full HPA N bottle with the Delta)

Now there is plenty of power to run a full days shooting, then at night plug it into the charging units and your ready to go the next day.

The first version, I made was big and bulky and made of fibreglass, but proved the idea. However I ran into a few problems. They were fixed in the next 2 versions and a hard cased backpack was then purchased to replace my 1st version. This new pack is sleek and matt black, fits nice and snug to a vest.

Now I am playing at club games with it, it is capable of supplying up to 20bps and great when everyone is playing hopper ball! lol

If anyone is interested, I'll post some pics? ..... oh, by the way, I think all up it would have cost me about $1200 US to make!

OK guys .... as promised!

This is the back view, as you can see, the balls and airline are together, that is the airline is wrapped around the hose, helps to protect the balls from being hit inside the pipe and splatting inside.

There is the power cable next to the remote line, on the otherside we have the power/video cable and power for the fans in my helmet.

Now the inside, as you can see the 68cu bottle on the bottom left, the batteries bottom middle, warp feeder 1(Green) bottom right ....... in the middle we have a 230 Ball Hopper and connected above that is a plastic box that holds another 800 rounds, also mounted on the box is warp feeder 2 (Clear) .... and that is about it!

I use a Super bright LED on one side of the hopper on the Marker loader. On the other side is a LDR (Light Dependant Resistor) when the hopper is empty the LED shines directly on the LDR the LDR resistance then drops to 10 - 15 Ohms. The warp feeders are looped together, they have 3 settings, + - and no signal. If you set them to no signal and connect them on eitherside of the LDR, as soon as there is light shining on your LDR it activates the warp feeds. When the hopper fills up with balls, it blocks the light and the warps stop feeding. So there is your auto refill.

I used a hopper on my marker and refilled it, that way if you run out of balls from the back pack, you can still pod load your marker!

That is pretty cool. With a little refinement it would be plenty marketable.
What is the airtank in the backpack for if there is one screwed to the marker?

Seems like a small scuba like the source that firefighters use could be integrated into that and made to work out a bit better.

They're two different backpacks and set-ups. One is warp-driven, the other is pneumatic.

Now, that might seem like an awesome idea and totally take the huge hopper off any gun, but... why not just put a warp on the gun itself? I find my warp setup to be very comfortable and low profile, so I see no reason for a backpack that feeds a tube of paint. Yes, looks cool, and hats off to the guy for making it, but It just seems like too much trouble to me.

The only time i see it being beneficial is if they find a way to carry like a case of paint on your back, but it would have to be a hard backpack or else the paint would break if you fell.

Either way, i would never use one.

The MAIN point is. YOU NEVER HAVE TO LOAD. Ding, ding.........

No way that is NOT an advantage. Five man NPPL or what ever tourny. My five guys are at 500 to 1000 rounds each and we NEVER have to RELOAD. Sign me up. I got some strategy and tactics that will work just fine against the folks that have to load their silly little blimps on top of gun. :spit_take

LOL bring what ya got against my five guys using it and we will change your mind. Dont get stuck in the box. You need to think outside of it.

There is one fatal flaw. That extra several inches sticking off your players backs will make them an easier target to cross field shots.
With the way that players practice loading nowdays, a lot of them can shoot and load and even load on the run. Only in the lower ranks do you typically see the "stop and load" mistake being made.
Personally being so "old school" and having the issue that I cannot chew gum and walk at the same time, remembering to load before I need to remains problematic...
