I have to wait another ~12 hours.

As an aside, it's spelled with a 'k'.

Ugh. You certainly didnt lose any sleep coming up with that one.

But yes, I cannot wait to see the film. Though Im not real keen on Bale as Batman. They have yet to really hit one on the nose. Where is Batmans "Connery"? Its always the villans that get awesome casting. Not that I mind. You just think they could come up with a definitive icon for the part by now.

I don't know I thought Mike Keaton was a pretty damn good Batman. Never been a Batman ubergeek so maybe I'm missing some of the nuance to it but he's the best they've put forth IMO.

I think Bale does an excellent job and is by far the best one to date. Batman and Superman are both almost impossible to cast 100% correctly. The expectations are just so unrealistic.

I'm looking froward to it as well. Been listening to the score today. All the theaters are sold out for this weekend which is fine because I don't want to deal with the crowds. Guess we'll wait till next week.

Just got back from the midnight showing. Awesome movie! And at two and a half hours it definitely felt like I was getting my money's worth.

My only criticism is Bale's Batman voice...sounds like he needs a throat lozenge

It was a good movie, but it suffered from Spiderman 3 complex(the tried to put to much in one movie) I'm still voting Ironman as the best superhero flick of the summer.

Saw it last night. Im still meh about Bale. Overdone. What else can be said about Ledger as Joker? :hail: I laughed so hard at the 'crappy remote at the hospital' scene. Must have been made in Taiwan. Overall much better than the last one though IMO.

The problem with Spiderman3 was not that it had too much going on but was that Sony pressured the director Sam Rami into putting Venom into the film. A character he did not like or understand that well. That's not a good combination when your director is also a lead writer for the film.

Venom could have been much deeper in Spider Man 3.

However, I was really hoping there would be an entire movie based on the secondary villian in Batman, I was hoping all of that was just lead up once I put it all together.

In Spiderman 3 Venom seemed like an afterthought added just to make some people happy. Venom needed to be the only villan in his own movie.

In The Dark Knight the secondary villan was the same way, the movie should have ended in a set up for his own film instead of cramming him into the last half hour and killing him in the end. It ruined the movie that was so good until then. Joker was awsome, great acting and fit. Bale is not a great Batman, but does well enough to look past it. They just should have resisted the urge to add the second villan.

Or simply left him there as a possibility to those who knew the comics. Because I was so thrilled at the thought of the next movie around him as the villian.

I blame it on the cowl, because it seals off his nose if you look rather than leaving it open, so it makes it sound like his nose is plugged up (since it pretty much is).

As for the joker...Watch as i make this pencil...disappear. ...Ta daaaaa.

I found it amazingly done, because in all his other movies Heath Ledger still shone through the character somewhat, in this one he literally did a trick and disappeared into the character.

And as for the other villain, i saw it coming a mile away, but i was hoping it would be another movie, but i liked how it was overall much more realistic than past batman incarnations.

I think they left it very open for Dent to still be alive. The only problem with pulling that would be that a movie revolving around Twoface and no Joker would not be nearly as good as this one. Unless they got Depp for the Joker, I think he could pull it off.

saw it last night.

front row for imax, while amazing, is less than optimal.

other than that... :headbang: :hail: :headbang: :hail: :shooting: :shooting: :shooting:

it really is a shame that ledger died. you can see that they were banking on him for another film. i know i would be, he was absolutely fantasstic. as has been said before, i wathced the entire movie without once thinking, "heath is doing a great job as the joker". it was just, "wow, the joker is great." he really made that character come alive in a way that surpasses even ron pearlman in hellboy. (and pearlman is wearing full body prosthetic makeup!)

i couldn't help but laugh out loud at the dissapearing pencil, and the hospital remote.

even my girlfriend wanted to go pee, get popcorn, and go immediately to another showing in a real theater.

Yeah, honestly the only actor i think who could match or surpass heath's performance would be johnny depp, and he looks enough like him, but i doubt they would do that. HOnestly i would much rather see depp take on another role, like the riddler or someone like that, although anyone could surpass the last riddler we had.

And dent would be dull on his own, because he wasn't a crazy superpower, he was just a pissed off guy who was killing people based on the flip of a coin. Honestly i wouldn't want to mess with him, but he paled in comparison to the joker. This is probably the first batman movie i'll actually buy, other than batman and robin when i was like 5 or 7 and thought it was cool.

This movie was BETTER than all the hype! Any one catch when morgan freeman said

Batman: Can this new suit handle dogs?
Freeman: Yeah, it can even stand up to cats....

I predict cat woman in the next movie...the hint was given!

I caught that. Most of my friends did not. I'm not sure I wanna see a catwoman in these movies....

Honestly I'm very happy with how they handled 2 face. I too thought they would stretch him to his own movie, but in the end I'm glad they didn't. It was nice in this because instead of picking up with him in another movie we get his whole story in one sitting. It just works better. I liked it.

The Joker was beautiful. I'm soooo dissapointed that Ledger is dead because I could see them bringing him back. I really hope they don't ever try to have someone else play the joker in the next movie, I just don't think it would work.

There were some great lines in this though. I like the cell phone sonar.
Wayne: "it has sonar, like a..."
Fox: ".. A submarine Mr. Wayne, like a submarine". I thought that was great.

I didn't get to see it in Imax, that was sold out all weekend. In fact most regular showing were as well. I went and saw it in hooksett NH. I went to the IMAX theater only to turn away in dissapointment, I then sped a couple miles up the highway to the next theater and go in there just before the crowds. Very glad I did, that movie was excellent!! I wanna see it again in IMAX. Anyone see it in both? Is it worth seeing in IMAX? If so why? What's the big deal?

Your right they did throw that in. lol. that could be cool.

I was so tired by the time that movie was over. I shouldnt have gone. I didnt even remember dent getting killed.

It was over done. I remember thinking it was time to go about half way thru... the sonar thing was too much like the crappy batman movies, which after watching again recently on tv... were really crappy. Then Harvey's face well... that was done in pirates of the caribbean and really didnt fit. again, just too much.

The most screwed up thing... I cant stand it when they change actors. I dont know who that chick was that played rachel. that just ruins a movie. besides... they worked really hard to make her look ugly... or at least I hope they did or I feel sorry for that actress.

Jessica Alba for Catwoman.

Actually i'm pretty sure he said "No, but it can stand up to cats" which i noticed but i disregarded it because i can't see them bringing in cat woman. I decided to take it more as him just making a joke, and i'm hoping it wasn't a hint.

I don't think they will use Catwoman because of that bomb of a film by the same name. Then Catwoman is just a petty burglar that is a love intrest to Batman/Bruce Wayne.

I don't believe Twoface is dead but they were doing a memorial for Dent because Gordon/ the Mayor know he will never be the same person he once was.

I would like to see Twoface continue his terror of Gotham with perhaps the begining of a new super criminal. But who? I know who I would like to see Mr. Freeze,Clayface,Bane,Poison Ivy,The Riddler. Now out of the five The Riddler and Poison Ivy fit the way they have been making the films of using characters that could be believable by not being too over the top super villians.

I also want a sleek and unique Batmobile nothing like the ones we have seen in the past. Anyone that has seen season 4 of "Batman the animated series" somthing close to it. If I find a pic I will post it.

harvey dent is not dead probably. think about it the whole premise behind these batman movies. batman cannot take a life. it is possible for him to have been just knocked out cold.
