I've been wanting to pick up a little airbrush kit for a while. Try and do some small stuff (my laptop, paintball parts, etc) Anybody have any recommendation? I like ebay so if someone has something on there that looks good let me know. I don't really know if single or dual action would be best for me.
Thanks.

Dual action. Single is worthless. I have an Iwata HPC (something like 15 years old now) that I really liked. I have not used it in years. Practice practice practice.

Not so much. I actually just dug it out of storage for the first time in over a decade. Wanna play with it again.

how much did you spend on something like that? what other parts did you have to buy to use it? when do you purchase the paint from...
BTW. I have a small air compressor (3gal, 120psi max) would that work ok?
Thanks for all your help so far!

Your compressor should work fine. You will need to regulate it down a bit, but that's not hard.
I'm not sure what the cost was. Like I said it was over a decade ago. I have two dual action brushes (the HPC and some Paasche model I don't like as much as the Iwata), a airbrush compressor and an air line with a moisture trap. You should be able to find good supplies at a local (wherever that is) art supply place or http://www.dickblick.com/ (hope that doesn't trip the filters, what an unfortunate name). Blick bought the place in Minneapolis where I got most of my stuff. The other place here is Art Materials Inc. (http://www.artmaterialsonline.com/) (cool they have a web page).
Really airbrushing is all about the art of masking. Without masking all you are doing is spray-painting with a small flow of paint.

I made custom fishing lures for a while and airbrushed them. Just sold all my stuff though, night classes leave little time for anything else.
