Friday August 1st 1:00am
Its a cool and crisp night as we arrived in the beautiful city of Calgary, Alberta. My parents and I have flown 3,400km to cowtown for my sisters wedding and a little sight seeing afterwards. I'm excited of course, not just because of the love i have for this place but also for the fact that i remembered to bring my paintball gear :D
As for today we rest.

Saturday August 2nd 8:00 am
Even with the 2 hour time change my body somehow wakes me bright and early. I'm not complaining, for today I get to take my sisters Fiance Scott paintballing. I organized today as the first part of his bachelor party, something to keep all the men busy while the girls do thier shower thing.
Not knowing the area all that well I let my sister pick the field. Capture the flag is the name of the place just outside of Cochrane, Alberta in the foothills of the Rocky mountains.

I knew what i was getting into, i'd read all the reviews before hand. First off there were no refs at all, and other then them saying "barrel plugs and masks outside of the prep area" there was really no safety whatsoever.
That point aside, the fields were quite nice, large areas with TONS of tires as bunkers. And a very comical "bunny" outfit for the groom.

We played a few of the fields and by about 3 in the afternoon people were starting to run low on paint so we decided to go "hunting for bunny wabbits" and i called out for everyone to turn of scottyboy :ninja: at first his adrenaline told him to stay and fight. but after taking 15-20 shots and realizing he was surrounded. The "get me the heck out of here" rush kicked in :p we gave chase and cornered him behind a tree. Didnt take long for most of us to be out of paint, so we all headed back to the prep area to take a few pictures.
Shortly after the group photo(clearly showing the grooms distaste) he was warned that he had 20 second to run again because OH WAIT we found more paint ;) I had nothing left so I followed with my camera
"RUN BUNNY RUN"

All in all we had a great day. The groom is no worse for wear, only about 40 welts

As for what we did that night. I cant say I might get banned lol:cool:

Theres alot more to come as of next saturday after the wedding. I am taking off with my friend to roam the mountains. we have 2 more paintball days planned, one in Rocky mountain house Alberta. and the other in vernon BC.

Capture the Flag, huh? That has to be one of the oldest fields around. I still have old postcards from them from back in '92 when we played with Brass Eagle pumps. Sad to see that refs and safety aren't high on their list.

At least the groom seems to have had a blast! Awesome pictures :)
