Romanian WASR-3 (AK-47 chambered in 5.56NATO/.223Rem)

Taurus PT-1911 (1911 Colt clone in .45 Auto)

Both are totally awesome!! In fact, I recently shot down a tree with the AK :shooting:

Sorry about the stock photos... real pics to follow  I just gotta get em developed.

Where do you obtain an AK-47? I'm guessing it's single shot?

My friendly neighborhood gun shop  and nope, it's semi-auto :headbang:

EDIT: thinking about it, you probably meant semi when you said "single shot" so you would be correct.

i got mine at a gun show. $330 and a 5 min backround check was all it took.

what did you pay for your WASR-3? i have a WASR-10 and it has been good to me.

heres mine with its American friends:

Mine is basically the WASR-10 because it is hi-cap by production. I paid about what you did, I think like $400 after tax, background check fee, etc. Guns run more in the Chicago area though due to retardedly high tax and fees from the state, county, and municipality where I bought.

They are small because they were shot with a cruddy disposable camera and larger pics were insanely grainy.

Looks cool, but too bad you didn't get some close ups!

How much did that Taurus run you?

Does it shoot the rare .45 LC :p

heh

:spit_take  Literally LOL'd!!

It was cheap for a decent starter 1911. Like 6 or so IIRC, but that is after the insane IL tax :(

Well, perfect and not... LOL. They undersized the bore at first to it was not ejecting cases. I had to pound the action opened with a rubber mallet. :tard: I sent it back to Century Arms (the importer of RomArm Rifles) and the did her up nice :argh: Now she is perfect in every way :D

So since I don't have the money for a WASR/AK variant I was thinking about an SKS

my local in town (town of like 3000) gun store would be able to order me a Yugo sks, original price being $170 add 15% mark up 25 or so for shipping and another 25 for license fees, grand total around $250

what do you think yugo SKS $250?

kills me when one of you guys picked up that SKS for 100$ but...

...I'd like to get one soon, especially depending on who is elected.

That seems ok, not outstanding though. Does it have a removable magazine? I would hold out and try to find a deal on a stamped AK-type rifle for a little bit more, but that is just me. That Yugo would be a fair deal at $250 though. If you like the rifle then go for it. You cannot go wrong buying a gun that you like, unless it gets you thrown in the slammer... ;)
Stand by for a PM...

I picked up a Norinco (sp) SKS for $40 bux! in great shape as well, even came with a 1/2 box of Winchester shells. I shot them up, then turned around and sold it for $150. I believe the other guys still got a good deal. Ive heard that the Norico SkS' are some of the better, but im not gun expert, esp. on somthing like that.

But I was very well pleased with the gun. It shot great at 100 yards with open sight. Wouldnt mind having another at some point. But I would deff. reccomend them. Esp. for a cheap, fun shooter.

What isn't? Everything is more expensive than it was even last year. My last box'o'22LR cast $8 for 550rds. It is now $20 last I saw :(

Well what happened was the my uncle has a country auction house. Somebody brought this gun to him and apparently needed money pretty badly so he bought it for 40 beans. One night i was up to 1 of his auctions and he took me to a storage room and showed me the gun. He didnt know ext what it was, and honestly, i wasnt sure either. But he was told it shot fine and said he would let me have it for what he had in it. So i pretty much fell n2 that deal. Sometimes karma is a good thing. I shot it some and then did my research, finally let it go when the time seemed right. Hopefully you will come across something at the right price for you. It was a good little shooter.

And btw, the cheaper rounds for that thing arent expensive at all. very affordable actually. GL!

hey maxima, if you are 21 you can apply for a C&R FFL that makes you a collector of curio and relic firearms. the Yugo 59/66 is on the list so you can order it strait to your house after you get your license.

And it is dirty cheap! It is only $30 for 3 years!!

You are very limited with regard to what you can get with it though. Check the C&R list that the ATF posts first and then decide if it is worth it or not. Also know that you must give the ATF rights to inspect your bound book and your firearms that you acquire under the license once a year at their option. Just something to consider. I do not know if they actual check on collectors or concentrate on dealers or not. If you are away at school it might be an encumbrance, especially if you are like me and go to school 1050 miles from home...

thanks for the info! Have to check out the list to see what kind of options there are. Luckily school is only ~100 miles away for me...and should be over very very shortly. :)

i don't think the BATFE has ever inspected a C&R holders records and firearms without a good reason. there are no random checks, no ones is coming to your door and asking to see your guns. the C&R also covers anything more than 50 years old i believe.

They do reserve the right to do "random" checks though. I have heard of only one example of an inspection actually occurring though. I read somewhere that they actually schedule it with you in advance in the event of a "random check", so I guess it is not truly random.

That 50 years thing is a general rule. There are current production novelty firearms on the list and there are relic firearms that are prohibited. You can also request a ruling on anew or old firearm if you can demonstrate that it is primarily a collector firearm.

Change.gov is now up, Obama clearly states he means to reenact the Clinton Assault Weapons Ban. Thank god its not new legislation and I hope they are too lazy to add to it. Anyways, so time to buy your:

Mini 14's
M1A's
AR's
FAL's
HK's
