I went back to the laundromat yesterday to do another load and the lady remembered me from ITLAP Day  I could tell she did. I was half expecting her to talk to me like a pirate, but she didn't, which was a bit disappointing. She looked shocked when I spoke plain English

 That's great, yeah actually the coxswain that was in my boat for rowing practice started talking like a pirate, it was pretty funny.

yeah yeah yeah i know lol and now i know what ive been missing out on :cuss: but at least now i get to enjoy the greatness of agd :hail: also i will post pics tomorrow for those interested in seeing my mini mag. and sense im here now and you all know im a mag newb  would an rt sear and pin make the gun shoot like an rt? pretty much what im asking is what does changing the sear and pin do? and ive read that you cant put a ult kit in a mag with a classic or minimag valve, also read you can, but dosnt it just lighten the trigger pull? so wouldn't that be ok to do or would i not benefit from doing so?

thanks, JoE

would an rt sear and pin make the gun shoot like an rt?
Nope
pretty much what im asking is what does changing the sear and pin do?
It will not help you. If you have an RT rail, you need an RT pin; likewise, if you have a Classic Rail, you need a Classic pin. They are just different. They really do the same thing in the end. The RT one is threaded and the Classic is not, IIRC.
and ive read that you cant put a ult kit in a mag with a classic or minimag valve, also read you can, but dosnt it just lighten the trigger pull?
You can use the ULT in a classic valve. There is really no legitimate reason to do this IMHO. The only reason to do this on a classic valve is to overload it with shims and make your Mag have ridiculous bounce and "runaway gun" (although it has been brought to my attention that it can improve the functionality of the hyperframe). Essentially what the ULT was designed to do is remove or diminish the bounce effect from the RT type valves in addition to lightening the pull.
so wouldn't that be ok to do or would i not benefit from doing so?
If you want to have "runaway gun" then you can look into it further, but I do not see a point in putting a ULT into a Classic type valve. I think you'd be happier accessorizing in some other way.

thanks, JoE
Okie dokie... That should do it. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask. We are a great group here, well 99.99% of the time anyways :D

Good luck with the Mag and shoot it with pride. If you have not been bitten by the bug yet, you will. In case you have not been told, the Mag Bug has a strong positive correlation with empty wallets; it's sad, but true

P.S. sorry about my color choice. I know some people do not like it, but it fits ever so well with my user-name :)

If i'm not mistaken, every classic valve will accept the ULT. One of the reason is to be able to use the classic valve with a hyperframe.

About the AGD bug, I have 6 markers and another arriving this week. 5 of those are mags. That's without working, just imagine when i start working :wow:

You are right, and I hate you for it  :p

It was my mistake. It will work in all Classic valves. There are some Retro and RT Pro valves that needed a mod. I'll go back and fix it.

As for my mag bug... I have my first mag, my personalized Z-gripped mag, and something extra special that is in the hands of RRFireBlade as we speak. I do not even want to know how much the final total will be for that puppy

The most amount I ever spent on a mag was $510, but I've spent far more than that if I figure in the cost of my c68 classic and Minimag.

well to better answer your question. YES ABSOLUTLY. you can put an RT PRO style ON/OFF and pin into a classic valve. and yes it will work great. by doing this you will not loose any ROF or have to worry about any issues with the gun. infact putting an rt pro style on/off into the classic valve softens the pull slightly and gives it a little more "snappyness" in the trigger bounce. although you really shouldnt be able to bounce it. it still is a pretty simple upgrade if you notice the small things.

the ULT will work. however with the pressures going through the the classic valve, there is not enough to effeciently supply the needs of the ULT. so yes the ULT will work great, will be super soft, but goot luck shooting too fast.

of course these 2 are from my own opinions and expereinces

He was asking if he could use an RT sear lol, not the on/off.

They are most useful in the dark where you are able to see shadows. You have to use both eyes with the sight on low power, but it's pretty easy to line up. Shoot once and listen for it; it sounds good. :ninja:

The RT on/off works well in a classic and will still be useful later on. Like trevor said, the ULT fits in the Classic valve, but you don't get usable speed. What good is a light trigger if it feels squishy and won't return? Some people like the classic on/off. I tried one out this weekend for the first time in three years, I was chuffing bad! :tard:

I don't see a level 10 bolt in here (?). Those are helpful.

what does changing the on/off do? and if i where to pnuemag it would it give me good results or would it be pointless without a better valve?

i thank you all helping me. and also id like to say i am looking around diff stickied threads and stuff to try to find stuff out too not just asking first without trying to find out myself.

The Rt on/off has about one half the pull of the classic on/off because the pin is cut back and some of the pressure is balanced out and the actual area that is exposed to outside pressure is smaller. The ULT is balanced also, but it is plain skinny with very little area for the valve pressure to push on. That's why it doesn't return very well in a classic valve.

You need an RT on/off for a pneumag if you're going to follow the common component list. The force it exerts on the sear matches the pressure range that works well with the msv and mpa-3.

You can make a good pneu with a classic valve, but they take a little more tweaking than an reactive valve and you will see fewer chuffs with a reactive valve just because they recharge faster. The other end is that when you get a classic valve running fast, you may want a level 10 bolt which bites into the money you saved by not buying an X-valve. :(

It is fun to drag out an old stainless valve mag and wail away at people though. If you have a common jersey on when you walk off the field, people look at your old mag and don't even suspect you. :ninja:

I'm working on pneuing my classic right now myself. Just finished most of it up yesterday. I was way low on air so I was only able to take about three shots with it. I've got an RT on/off with a quad o-ring in it right now, but I just picked up a ULT from someone here on AO, so I'm going to see if that works better, less pressure/stress on the pneumatics. You shouldn't have too much of a problem with pneuing the classic. You may have already seen this, but here's a thread about doing it. http://automags.org/forums/showthread.php?t=235655 The video is pretty good, and show that a classic can keep up pretty well. For me personally, I'm really not interested in shooting 20+ BPS, I doubt my fingers would be able to go that fast anyway. I know that my hopper can't keep up with that, and I don't want to drop another $50-$100 on one that can. But if I can pop off 12 or 14 shots in a second, I'll be more than happy. Good luck with your project.
