Well i went to turn in some weapons to get fixed today, and a soldier walked past me with something funny looking i wasnt used to seeing.. so i walked in behind him to get a closer look, and low and behold it was what i suspected it was... an FN 303, i was really surprised to see it over here. i asked the guy about it, and he had no clue about it, exept he pulled the trigger and it fired, so i gave him alittle insight about it. this is the only pic i could get tho, hopefuly later i can get some better ones. they ended up turning that one in, and getting a brand new in the box one, must be nice :shooting:

EDIT- hmm, well my haji internet is to slow to post pix, ill try later today to post them.

That would be a sight to see. Was it is good condition? Of course it will work, TK designed it to last forever.

Hey thats great!! See if you can get some pics and a story or two about how they are using them in action. We never hear a thing about who is using them or what they are doing. Any info appreciated.

Thanks!

well, i got some better pix today and i talked to the civilians that work at the place that it was turned into. it was tagged, so its broken beyond repair, sad day :( it had what looked like a 7 or 9 oz co2 tank with some kind of reg on it with a gauge. i asked them what they are usually used for and they said they use them mainly in the prisons here for riot and crowd control. Also, he said that they use them in the streets on patrol for crowd and riot control, and it the most feared weapon on the streets, even more feared than the .50 cal. mostly Military Police and Infantry use them for that reason. this one looks ok, its prolly been abused tho, grunts cant take care of anything. but he did hand them a BNIB one yesterday which was pretty sweet. the pix will be posted shortly, still going slow.

EDIT- now that i look at it, maby the tank was a small N2 tank, didnt really look at it to much. they had it setup to screw directly into the inlet on the side of the weapon.

That is so cool.

I never realized it until my friend just told me, but the assault rifle in Halo looks a lot like the FN.

AGD designed the valve system, its a riot control gun used by law enforcement and the military, it shoots special projectiles with "fins" check out manikes new basement videos, he shows the fn303 that he has and shows the ammo he made himself

Not a big fan of how the grips are designed... they look uncomfortable IMO.
Reminds me of my old Crosman Nightstalker...

So that's why on the AGD Virtual Museum it says "... the company branched out and took on the challenge of developing non-lethal weapons for the armed forces." :tard:

I know the Police use modified A-5s and pepper-balls, but knowing Tom, the man who poineered my marker of choice, made something the US army uses; that's just cool. :headbang:

where do i get one of those regs?

Is that a reg on the end of the tank? Looks nice and short. Not quite Myth short, but with the QD, that could be tight.

Sweet pics and info thanks!!

There is no reg on the end, its just an on/off valve and it takes 3000 psi straight into the gun. We didn't just design the valve, we did the whole thing internally. The external (good looking) shell was done by FN and they reworked our original design with some modifications for a military trigger etc.

I agree, although you have to keep in mind how FN designs their grips. For example, the FN P90 doesnt look comfortable at all but trust me, I have held one and it is very comfortable. I guess you'd have to hold one yourself to find out. :D

Oh, I haven't held a Fabrique Nationale De Herstal Project 90? :shooting:

I mean, the P90s grips are curved and very ergonomic. These are, well, straight but on an angle with ribs. Maybe it feels good with gloves on but... idk, seems a little off to me.

I guess I'd have to hold one in real life to make a good opinion.

Hmm, no iron sights on the 303, needs optics.

Hey Mr. Kaye:

A) Redesigned trigger? They cannot short stroke it I would assume then. How?

B) Those things must not chop - considering that could be someone's life. Does it have level X on it?

C) Didn't you realize that if you also made it capable of shocking people with electricity that the cops would have been all over it, and you would be getting years of free publicity in the newspaper right now that TASER is stealing from ya?

D) Has smart parts patented this yet?

.....For those of you who asked for more of the story... we started with this concept in the mid 90's and were actually granted the initial contract to develop it for the US government based on our concept drawings and a successful testing and proof of concept with the Dismounted Battle Space Battle Lab at Fort Benning, Georgia using the Armson Semi as the base launcher. This was only accomplished with the cooperation of Tom Kaye and Gary Gibson using specially developed Perfect Circle "paintballs". Working closely with Tom we decided the best course was to utilize a modified Automag Valve System and specially designed Airgun Regulator for the final prototypes. The project was handed over to Tom at that point for final commercial development, and is now the very successfully developed FN/M303. I thought you would enjoy seeing how similar much of this process is to paintball product development. Here are a few of the original concept drawings and prototype design photos.

This is actually the 2nd gen concept (we will pull the first from a backup file and post later)

This is the final concept drawing that we worked with for the actual prototype design.

This Promo Flyer shows the final prototype design accepted by the U.S. Army.

This is just one more example of how we have been able to successfully work with Tom and the original concept of a "Universal Motor and Transmission" that proved to be so successful with the Micromag Series for so many years. A good idea is always a good idea......

Yes, cred goes to Pro Team for getting the ball rolling and making the first working protos. Their multi-loader system actually worked really well. The military specified they wanted to be able to load different rounds. But then didn't like it because it left a round in the chamber when you rotated to a new feed tube (which we all know you can't fix). Then, after the fact, they stuck a weight limit on it which required switching to a single clip which then could remove the ball from the breach.

Yes we still have one!! But sorry its not for sale. We like to keep one of everything we build that it is as cool as this. It allows us to see all the things we have done and accomplished! :)

Crazy stuff.

Does the army still buy them, or did they just buy a crapload back when they first got them?

It doesn't shoot round projectiles. And their shell is made of plastic not gelatin.
