Ive got a old computer that i would like to play games on, but it is choppy and very VERY laggy w/ cable. It is a Hewlett Packard with a p133(i think) Should i get some RAM? And if so what kind. Should i get a new vidio card? And if so what kind? I want to spend about 150 to get this thing going. How easy is it to install these things?

Speed is cheap. So is RAM. Get both. You might have to get a new motherboard that can support more speed though.

How can I add some speed to it? And how many sticks of RAm should I buy and what kind? And how much are new motherboards?

DDR RAM = the shiz, but its expensive as hell...you could get a standard SDRAM 248 meg chip for like 40 bucks at circuit city. THEY MIGHT have chips to upgrade the processor speed, i am not sure though, and the motherboard i am lost on, dont ask me.

128 mb of RAM, if you can DDR, would do you great. To get more processor speed you need a new CPU, but you're going to need a new motherboard probably.

If I just get some RAM(how much should I get!?) Will that help me? And if i upgraded my vidio card would that help me more? I dont have the money for a new cpu.

Yeah, RAM will help, but with a p133, you won't be playing anything but ollllllllllllllld games.

Buy a new computer.
There are great prices for new systems out there much cheaper then AGD markers... which is very odd seeing as more time and designe effort went into computers then PB markers:)

You need a new computer. There is nothing you can do to significantly update that computer. Actually... you could say the same for a computer 3 generations ahead of what you have now. :)

If you're dealing with a P133 it would probably be easier to just get a new computer. For about $150, you can get some RAM and a new video card, but it won't improve the computer very much. The money might be better spent on a new system.....

New RAM and Vid will do nothing.

That's not even an MMX processor... you can't add nothin to that machine.

ya... you probably just need a whole new system all together. I bet your case is so old, the current motherboard designs wont even fit.

www.ebay.com take a look, they have some nice systems.

If you want to become a gammer, you want atlease a 1.5Ghz AMD Athlon, 256MB DDR RAM, GeForce3 TI 200, 400 watt powersupply. Those are soem important components that should last you...

Yeah, these guys are right. You're gonna have to get a new pc if you want to play games. Unfortunatly, not many people play quake 1 anymore, which is the best game ever, and will run on your computer. I wish people would still play that game....
