Rifle on the left is my Bushmaster; have added a free float rail, grips, CTR stock since I last posted originally on here. Rifle on right is a Oly 7.62x39mm upper on a Aero stripped lower reciever that I put together. Bottom AR upper is a Spike's Tactical .22lr upper. Top hand is a Berretta 92sf. Bottom on is a Springfield XD 9mm sub-compact.

I have already put about 3-4k rounds thru the Bushy since I got it back in March. Very reliable and a pleasure to shoot in its current configuration.

Got the Oly 7.62x39mm upper back in July. Used it on the Bushy lower before I decided to build a dedicated lower for it. The light upgraded trigger caused light primer strikes even with an upgraded bolt and firing pin when using cheap euro ammo. Built the lower using a stiffer hammer spring, should fix the light primer issues when using the cheap ammo.

Got the Spike's 22lr upper back in July as well. Really wanted a cheap alternative to .223/5.56 ammo and found it in this nifty little upper.

Was in Houston during Thanksgiving and decided to do a little shopping and ended up picking up the 92sf. Very accurate compared to the XD 9mm sub.

Always wanted a semi rilfe chambered in .308 and was looking into an AR10 and CETME G3/91 type rifle. While searching I happened to stumble onto the FN FALs. Started looking into those and ended up with this L1A1. Only shot about 10 rounds thru for now, looking to do some serious range time this weekend though.

Wouldn't the scope work better if the Objective was facing the Front of the Rifle ???

Very nice Collection...

Still want an AK but the prices since the election have went up and I can't justify paying that much for an AK or SKS. Should of picked up an SKS when the going rate was $75-100 a few years back

Yep. EVERYTHING is going through the roof. I wanted to buy an AR in .223 and a .450 upper to match, but it is now officially way too expensive for me. Hopefully everything will come back down at some point.

An SKS was $60 out of a crate last I checked. How much are they now?

PyRo

I just checked and damn. The price tripled in a year. I wanted to buy a case of them a while back but was afraid I'd get a visit from the ATF. Now I really wish we had.

Yup. Things are insane these days!! I cannot believe how expensive things are getting. I am tempted to spend money that I should not. Pay of the interest on my non-subsidized loans or buy new toys, what to do? This will be a tough call.

buy some toys man you can fight off the bill collectors with em :D

i dont forsee prices going anywhere super fast dealers went nuts and bought up most of the "preban" stuff and are gonna rake you over the coals when the new Brady Bill passes, and possibly becomes permanent

When Academy had a sale around late October or so back on Monarch 7.62x39, I litterly saw some dude buy about 4k of this stuff but not before I got my 1500 rounds. The ammo hoarding right now is unbelievable. Buying online is even worse. Makes me wonder if local shops are buying up all the ammo online and marking them up.
I know one thing though, gun shops are NOT affected by our current recession.

Those bill collectors will be G-men :p I have all DoE loans. Somehow I do not think I'd fare too well

You guys are right though, they are rakin it in hand over fist and prices will not be down any time soon if at all.

The Brady bill is perminant. Their is some hope, their may be just enough Republicans and Democrats in traditional Republican seats who do not want to loose them by supporting an AWB to keep it from passing. Obama may or may not go after guns right off the bat. He might just do whatever the hell he wants as soon as he gets into office and disregaurd what America has to say. Or he might play the approval rating game and feel it out. If he has a high approval rating and it looks like he is going to be re-elected in 2012 he will go after guns. If he is borderline and a close election is likely he will probably back off as an AWB might cost him. If elected for a second term and he hasn't went after guns rest assured he will.
Our other hope is Heller. Even if Heller is not incorporated it still applies to the Federal government. With the way the court is now a ban may well be ruled unconstitutional. If Obama appoints another liberal or two forget about it.

If Obama does not go gun grabbing right away the "EBR bubble" will burst and prices will come tumbling down.

Dealers are crazy right now, they are also no better then car salesmen. I saw them sell a no frills pre-ban Colt AR-15 for over two grand the other day. Talking to the guy behind the counter he said prices are up on everything because of Obama. When I asked him what they were paying for pre-ban ARs as I know of a couple I could but for half what they want he tells me $400-$600. I can't figure out how the heck they have so many in stock when they are paying next to nothing for them. Don't people see the price tags on the rack and figure out they are being ripped off? He says they can't pay more because of the "volatility", the prices might drop any day. That's the exact opposite of what he told the guy he just butt raped for two grand.

I don't think so. Dealers have seen what people are willing to pay. There has been no volume loss... I just don't see it dropping off anytime soon.

yep look at the prices for AR mags and stripped lowers; some dealers have doubled the price but yet people still put out the cash for them. $40+ for 30 round pmag? No thanks.

Don't you think it's the fear that pushes people to buy. "OH no the ban is coming, everyone, buy as many firearms and ammo as you can before it's too late!" And it's working pretty well for them so far.

It is right now yes, and to be frank it is not an unfounded fear when you look at the track records of the people who are about to take office, but that is beside the point. It is now a fear driven market yes, but when the fear subsides the prices might not. I hope they do, but I am not holding my breath. It might just be what these things are gonna cost from now on.

I have seen a HUGE boom starting about october... but now... it really is crazy.
I thought I was bad about hoarding stuff. I know guys who have 50k+ rounds of ammo, and hundreds of AR mags.

I am not too worried about an outright gun ban, what I and a bunch of my co workers are worried about are...

High taxes on ammo

magazine restrictions (reinstatement of the assault weapons ban)

required serial numbers on bullets

anti gun nuts going after lead lobbying to make it become a hazerdous material.

in other words... all the little things that they can do that isnt technically taking away our guns... but making it near impossible to ever use them.

Funny that you talk about the lead of bullets as hazerdous material. I work part time in a lead decontamination lab lol But it is the army's soil so it is actualy normal that it has a very high concentration of lead.

Its not just the thought of some ban.

I tried to buy a LEVER ACTION 45/70 (Marlin 1895) and the prices are up $200+ over where they were a year ago. Model 1895 is not just a made up number, while these are improved and built stronger they operate similarly to the guns made then, and well before then.

Funny how gun control works today, huh?

Did you know that an AWB was proposed this year by REPUBLICAN Mark Kirk of IL. He represents the district south of mine. Needless to say, I immediately withdrew my support for the man.

Be very careful not to foul up your barrel. Be very careful about what state you live in or pass through and e very careful to pay your taxes if you do this and do not permanently render the barrel longer than 16". :)

I was attempting to avoid saying the real "Eff" word. Maybe you prefer screw up your barrel? Basically do not leave burs or damage the rifling.
