That UL frame looks gorgeous on the mag. Was it hard to fit the sear into the frame?

ElPanda
01-16-2009, 02:47 PM
nope

just filed the back screw hole down so it was level then used a ball end bit on my dremel to round it out so that the thumbscrew had clearance, and for the front screw hole I filled a little bit and extended the hole back, only other modifications were to the trigger, other than that it was pretty easy only took about 20 minutes to do

tools ftw

ONLY complaint i have.

should have snatched up a dm5 vertical adapter. the lines and everything flows so very very well and i love it. but to me the vert asa is the sore thumb :(

LOVE IT though :)

i agree, if it had that, the frame was reanno'd, and the Xvalve was polished black this thing would be unforgivably beautiful.

been there tried that

its very hard to do Ill just leave it at that, Im sure it can be done with enough patience but I just like the simple/reliable route, a ult and sear mod combo will be good enough for me. And as for the frame being re anodized, I like it the way it is, it looks very good in person, you cant really notice its dust, same with the valve, it is gloss enough that it doesnt throw the look of the marker off.

btw I will have a vid up shortly

I'd hit it :D

No, but seriously, that is a really fine looking marker you got there.

That is one sharp looking mag, although I have to say I was initially disappointed when I clicked on the video. I was expecting to see you ripping on that trigger frame like some egomag videos I have seen.

But all in all, it is a very nice looking gun and props to you for doing the mods yourself.

EDIT: I looked at the top again and you clearly state that it is mechanically activated. I should learn to read.

Wow, very nice. Typically speaking I cant stand DM/UL frames but boy it looks right at home on there.

As I said before, I'd pick up a rail if you sold/modded them. Very nice!

something doesn't look right about the trigger pull though..

seems like you have to pull it in a long way for it to fire?

lol dont post stuff on the internet if you dont want someone to snoop around and see it :p

anyway I love that mag....just wish it was a polished valve to keep the gloss look throughout

to be honest, it sounds like the volume is slightly out of sync with the video.

also it looks as if the trigger activation point is set a tad lower then on a normal trigger set up. which would create a longer trigger stroke

i am in no way saying it looks bad(its damn sexy), it would just be that much better IMO.

Any chance of putting up a detailed how-to?

Also, what UL frame is that?

Sexy sexy sexy rail. I know you said 1 of 1, but CAD files are forever. Where did that rail come from?

came from my head ;)

did it with files so it IS truly a 1 of 1 rail, even if I made one similar to it, they wouldnt be identical

So this is all the modification you did to get the frame to work on the gun? :tard:

Very impressive Automag. What's a decent brand of dremel by the way? They seem handy and my local pawn shope has like three different ones for $10 a piece...

save yourself the trouble and save for one

plus buying it NIB means a warranty, and for a new user that will be a good thing just in case crap goes down.

if you plan on using it even remotely often then your going to want a nice set of bits and disks to keep you going, I bought mine over a year and a half ago at sears for 100 bucks, and it has alot of the bits and disks with it already, as well as a few drums of spare disks, cause you go through em fast, and Ive hardly made a dent it it.

so I'd say just go to sears or home depot and look at a nice starter kit, buy it once, buy it right

but to put it in perspective, the only thing I used a dremel for on this whole project was the frame screw holes, used it for a total of maybe 10 minutes

Engus

and get a corded one. nothing sucks more than being in the middle of a project and having to wait 4hrs so your battery can charge.

OK, this one s a Craftsman one, it's dang near brand new but no warranty. I wouldn't mind losing the mere $10 if it could be nice. If not then I'll get a brand new one.
