Since we don't see many splashed classic RT's, i thought I would share this one with you guys.
After my protein exam this morning, i went home to to discover the mailman knocking on my door with a nice big box in his hands. A red splashed barrel was poking through the box. I thought to myself "that's can't be a good start". So i go inside and can't wait to open it to have a look at it's condition. With the barrel sticking out, i thought to myself that it would be in crappy shape. And wouldn't you know it, it was the dirtiest marker I ever laid eyes on. It did look in good physical shape though, and the barrel wasn't damaged from the shipping. There are some marks on the barrel, but are hidden by the shroud.
I had planned on cleaning it anyways, used markers usually need a good clean when it gets a new home. But never to that extent. So i start a movie and start cleaning the darn thing....then another one because i wasn't finished. It took a total of 4 hours of scrubbing, dipping, greasing, lubing and a lot of paper towels to build it back up to it's original glory.
I noticed the the previous owner had never even took it apart. The inside of the rail is completely mint. Believe it or not, the outside is almost mint as well! The thing that isn't in good shape is the bolt and sear. Those have been worn pretty badly.
Now for the unveiling of this little gem!

That isn't the flash. It's paint breaking down in hot water.

After 4 hours and still have some work left:

I have to admit that it is a fine, uncommon specimen. The barrel has dual wire nubbins. Is that normal on classics? I heard only 100 were made of each color, is that true? I hope you enjoyed!!!
