Wish I could have it bored for inserts...

Found it covered in dust on a local field. Bought it for $10 bucks! LOL

I had two that Mr. Zupan gave me along with some AGD swag for the Tunaballers last year. I forget where one went, but I still have the other.

No, not original. Was a Mag barrel that was cut, milled (the outside diameter) and threaded for cockers. It's really well done, though.

I bought at a local Brazilian field. It was collecting dust for the past 10 years or so, according to the manager.

There was one of these at one of the AO days last year. Personally I thought it was awesome and if one could be had for not too steep a price, I'd love to pick one up.

Nice find!

I have a black one that was also cut and threaded for cocker bodies. I never get to use it though, the old lady loves the way it looks on her mini.

BUT, didn't TK say bore size was irrelevant?

I had that done to the stock eMag barrel. :D

Well, that I don't know... What I do know, from my own experience is that having the ball matched to the barrel bore does make a huge difference in precision. Which is not true about barrel rifling, porting or lenght. And, also from my experience, the longer the insert you have, better results as well.

Maybe what TK suggested is that the ideal barrel would be a barrel that has the same bore as the ball, which I do agree but also think it makes it more expensive and more things to carry on and off the field.

I'll see if I can get a few pictures this evening.

BTW, the size of the bore (within reason) doesn't affect accuracy of a paintball AT THE SAME VELOCITY.

Well, that I don't know. I can tell my Lapco Grey Ghost, with it's big bore barrel (I know it at least .690) shoots very unacuratly with .687 paint, while, at the same chronoed speed (280 fps), my Mag with a DW barrel and .687 insert can put the balls right where you want it.

I'm assuming that you have not bench mounted the gun and tested each barrel. It is quite possible that you are simply a better shot with the DW barrel. I know I am generally better with a longer barrel.

Chronoed at 280 is not the same thing as at the same speed. By that I mean at EXACTLY the same speed. Only comparing shoots that are at EXACTLY the same speed.

So, for paintballs, the most "accurate" barrel will be the one that is the most consistent. Typically that is a loose bore, but not necessarily.

Tom did extensive research and could find NOTHING that made a paintball more accurate AT THE SAME SPEED. That last part is important.

OK. Got your point. I believe the best test then would be use the same marker, same paint and different barrel bores, either changing inserts or the whole barrel. Next time I'll try it with two inserts, one that's the same as the balls and then a larger one (take .687 paint and then try it with both the .687 insert and the .692 one). I'll try it out and will let you know.
