There's two Chicago airports, O'Hare (the main one) and Midway. Midway's closer, but it's still a pretty good haul to CPX. Shouldn't be a big difference in travel time to CPX as both airports are located on/near major highways.

I'll be driving down from middle Wisconsin for this. Think I might want to find an alternate route to the one we took last year, as the bowels of Joliett are not somewhere I enjoy being lost.

Too bad this is the same weekend as TunaBall and the NJ Nam games. I am sure each event will suffer due to the scheduling error.

Maybe next year these event planners will take a closer look at others events schedules proir to selecting a date for their event. It is a shame there are to large event in New Jersey on the same weekend.

At least this event is in another state.

I will be at TunaBall personally.

Hope all of you that do attend have a great time.

I doubt it... 400 max. The last Wayne Dollack game was a total bust. We had more open players that day than scenario players.

I may whip out the mag and play a little bit

well, last year with only about 2 months notice there were 650 people there.

i'd expect a similar number this year. the economy pushing people away, but there large draw this year to go.

I'm most likely gonna be there. It all depends on if I can get the money by then, $90 a case will be felt, especially at a weekend long event.

Hopefully we'll have the Micros by then :shooting:

Anyone know if Tyger is going to be there?

I heard that Tippmann will be sponsering a TPX tournament that day. There is a quick draw, target shoot, and a 3 man tourney.

I'm guessing winners recieve TPXs.

I'm trying to get one more person to enter with me and GRimm.

I'd read elsewhere that the cost of field paint is now $75, rather than the $90. They really should put out a press release, or make a LARGE banner on their front page on that topic!

Anyone know if Tyger is going to be there?

He was last year. I was standing in the chrono line, thinking about how I was the only PBN Mod Squad guy in sight, figuring I was in a sea of people I didn't know. Looked at the guy in front of me and saw ears and a tail. What are the odds? :D Haven't heard anything this year, though.

pump scout -

we can't let the techpb/PBN feud ruin this game.

its really quite pathetic, and there are many people on PBN and even the staff there i do respect. you are certainly one of those people. i for one do not hold association before my own personal judgment.

just dont let your family think you are dead in a ditch somewhere on the field like last year! even when i am in the middle of getting billy gardner red in the face pissed at me.

I don't think anyone on our staff has even mentioned it. :) I tend to think that things have more or less levelled out to a quiet "cease-fire" on both sides of that, although I don't speak for anyone but myself and what I see personally. And yeah, the whole family issue still gets brought up around the house here. Wife was like 12 kinds of pissed off about that one!

TechPB is going to be with Sean and SP, correct? I should finally have my J2 up and running. Last year, I had issues with it not liking my low pressure tank. Couldn't get more than 210fps out of it. After the weekend, I swapped out the reg for a Torpedo I had around, and haven't had problems like that since. Not to mention I traded out the LP reg for a Myth, so that should help some, too.

Heck, I'm just looking forward to getting back down to Joliett to play again. It was a seriously good time last year, and I foresee the same this year... or better!

Having AGD there would be epic!!!

I heard from Tyger and he can't make it unless he somehow procures enough money to blow on a weekend. Which probably won't happen.

So I guess he's out.

Party starts at 9:00pm Saturday night in the camping area. Look for a white colored F150 truck with Wisconsin plates, and a 4'X3' banner that says "Psycho Cows". We'll have a grill going with brats if anyone needs a late diner, plenty of beer, and some marshmellows for the campfire. I invite all to stop by and say hi.

something tells me thats not true.

you explicitly told me once you "would never be a part of anything that made Mike Phillips money" so that pretty much ended any notion that your would be a part of PunkWorks. now, thats a website with a stated goal of discovering and educating the science behind paintball technology. this is also a stated goal that you spoke to me about last year at LL.

so forgive my leap of logic to the conclusion that you have clearly not worked through your issues if you are not on the the website DESIGNED to do something of which you have stated to me is one of your goals.

and now the issue is even more complicated since my personal BOS status on PBN due to ed reicker saying "if you post again on this website in the next three months, you will be banned" and i just wonder what your supposed to do on a forum if you cannot post. not only that, but ed came to that conclusion after i complained about my posts simply being deleted. that to me is simply a personal issue with ed rieker and myself. i enjoy the fact that i still have no reason at all for my BOS status on PBN, not a single rule was cited.

now im curious, when we speak at LL what i will do. i myself am not a petty person, i am open to the idea of making amends with ed and being unbanned on PBN. however, if i decide to be a petty person, something i have all the right to be, i could easily decide to never speak with you or ed again.

however, my goal is the one i have stated before many times, the discovery and education of the science behind paintball technology. as such, PBN was the best venue for that education because of its broad base. however, thats not really true anymore, i happen to think this whole thing might already have grown larger then PBN anyway. i have seen 3rd and 4th gen underborers. poeple who have no idea who me and bryce are, and yet they have herd of, used, and like underboring. so i wonder if our message and conclusions have reached PBN even if i do not post there. so it might be possible that i dont need to be PBN to accomplish my mission.

i do look forward to speaking to you and seeing your thoughts on the subject. it truly is sad that two smart people with the same goal cannot work though the politics of the situation to reach that goal.

i am ready to put this all behind us and move on, but i wonder if you are.

Gordon, I think you are jumping to conclusions and reading into things that simply haven't happened.

When it came to your and my private discussion on Techpb, I simply stated I didn't want to support the site due to Mike's past actions of posting porn on PBN, and because I wasn't interested in all the hate, foul language, and drama. I'm still not interested in the hate, foul language and drama. It's not why I post on the paintball forums. That was something I said in private to you, so that can't be part of any "feud"?

I post on very few forums, and it's becoming less and less all the time. I rarely post on AO, The Tinkers Guild, and MCB, I post a little more often on PBN to support customers but that's about it.

Since you and I spoke, Mike approached me at the San Diego NPPL event and we discussed a lot of things for at least half an hour (including me giving him as much advice as I could on reballs and feeding them through loaders). At the end of it he told he had changed and was looking to do the right thing with Tech PB and helping people in paintball. I told him that was very cool, and the good stuff he was doing was great and that I hoped it continued and worked out for him.

I also saw him at Wayne's Grand Finale game where we were polite to each other and I saw no issues.

I didn't know of any other issue until your post in this thread. Your "something tells me thats not true" leads me to think I am missing something or someone is trying to create some drama I am unaware of?

I'm simply not interested in the drama, and will continue to try and stay out of it as far as possible. I suspect just answering your comments may drag me back into something but I also don't know how to make the truth be heard without exercising my voice?

no no no, far from it. when people break off lines of communication is when the real trouble starts. then everyone gets defensive and pissed, and nothing ever works out. this is why banning and censorship never make you friends, only enemies. and yes, i tred that fine line between letting the truth be herd as i see it, and getting banned far to often. recently that didn't play out so well on MCB ...

im glad you have worked though your issues, thats a very good thing.

we will have to find each other and sit down for a chat at LL. i now have high speed at my disposal too, so not only talk though the drama i have with PBN, which you told me to talk to you about at LL, and some technical stuff too. i dont know how much experience you have trying to film paintball spin, because that how i spent my last 3 days. looks pretty promising right now too.

really, i hate the drama too. my goal is simply to get information out there. i know you and jack and people would like to participate more and i think punkworks has really opened the discussion up about this kind of stuff. you are always more then welcome in my forums. punkworks is definetly the least drama filled forum i have ever seen, mainly cause we dont let it get like that.

LL was an epic time indeed. Good to see a few mag supporters out there. Unfortunately i didnt get to meet as many of you as i wanted to, or talk to you for as long either.

I did shoot the SP general.....but didnt get the Gardners at all. Although, i will say shooting my own general was a happy mistake. He was poking out of the woods, gun raised and looking at me. Hey, i didnt take a chance and one balled him.

He was still talking about it sunday. OOPS!

Still, charging over the hill during the finale, double fisting my mag and a tac 8 was a blast. Also got some free first strike rounds to try out.

To be honest, the first day was kind of a bust. I hate the woods at CPX, as its like fighting in a jungle. If you play pump, or actually use single shot semi (like myself) its almost impossible to get kills. The fighting seemed to swing back and forth. There was some cool moments, like one balling a dude in the head at about 120 feet with my pump. He tried to make a run for cover and i just put one ball in the air just right, and SPLASH! got him. Only to turn to my left and see the tank turning its guns on me. I jumped up, and took off running yelling "TANK!!!!!" to the only guy left defending me. The tank ripped off TONS of rounds but none managed to get me. I swear it felt like something out of a movie. Very very cool.

As always with big scenarios at CPX, the finale is the saving grace. Everyone piles into Bedlam and Armagheddon and fights to the teeth for one hour. 400 or so people fighting over a single 20 ft. high hill. EPIC battle ensues. Paint everywhere (and i mean EVERYWHERE). Its always at the end, so everyone is shooting whatever paint they can. Its like that scene from 300 only with paintballs. I managed 8 confirmed kills while sitting just below our side of the hill. Right arm was firing my mag over the hill (i would pop up and take aim as fast as i could...got 3 down by a carner of a building) and left hand was weilding a Tac8. I used that to get two guys that tried to run up the hill and hit the plunger thing to score points. It was truely a fight.
I was lucky enough to play with Damage Inc. the whole weekend and those guys really know how to rock and roll.

As usual, saturday left me feeling a bit let down that i had paid all that money for entrance, hotel, paint, food, and the like, but sundays battle over that freaking hill made everything 100% worth it. It was a truely awesome battle. Worthy of every penny i spent to be there. Not to mention you havent lived until you've followed Conan from Damage Inc over the hill full charge while he wields a double a5 machine gun creation blasting paint and sounding like a hive of bees carrying MG42s. And you make every attempt to contribute with a mag and tac 8. I cant tell you how many times i got shot on that run alone, but i CAN tell you every welt felt like a badge of honor.

Another cool thing is that i guess Viper had paid CPX a sum of money sunday to give free concessions to anyone with a game pass. Soda, chips, hot dogs, pizza, whatever. It was a welcome relief after a hard day.

The refs were good. As always i dont envy the ones that were reffing that hill. I happened to LOVE the paint. It shot dead straight for me. So well i was even tagging guys feet if they let them poke out. And that was without spraying paint too. Some others may have a different opinion, but i loved it.

really? thats what it seemed like?

no it was quite the opposite, i was enjoying the day of play on sunday alot more then saturdays playing. that city field is second to none, and playing it with a phantom is like a stock players dream.

idk when you cought me, maybe i was thinking about something else that moment.

LL 2 was great. I had an awesome time. CPX isn't the greatest for scenarios. The long narrow playing field makes for a tiring weekend especially for big guys like me. I would have liked to see our "general" on the field more but it was expected.

It was great seeing old friends and meeting new ones. Vendors were abundant and generous. The Spyder girls were easy on the eyes ;)

Paint shot great. Some of the guys were complaining of bounces but I didn't have too much of a problem. I'm glad CPX brought in Indiana Air for the HPA fills. CPX refs were alot better this weekend than past events there.

I expected the score to be alot closer than it was. SP had some hard hitting teams like Blues Crew. Nice to see tanks out there. Hellions had a sweet one. Buckshot really did a great job with his for the red side.

Viper did another great job!
