Happy to finally be here. I have been told “post @ automags.org” as soon as I started saying I wanted a Tac One. After running out of answers on other forums I can say with certainty I am in the right place. Anyways this is my soon to be kit and I would appreciate it if you guys could review it. Because I’m not familiar with AGD products I’m not sure about compatibility, I live in Windsor, Ontario, Canada so shipping things across the border is a very expensive process, I NEED to know if I have over looked something, or if something is not compatible, and I think only you folks can help. I also have a few questions you will see closer to the bottom of the page.

So the things I need to know are:

Should I get autococker threads on barrel, or angel?

I know I need some steel air lines, but what fittings would I need to run from the gun to the stalk?

Is there any other feed necks that have a low profile that use a cam lock, that I could use instead of the sub zero? I play a lot of rec ball and don’t want anything with holes in it that water or debris could end up in because the sub zero dudes are taking a long time to get more in stock

The guys at AGD said they would knock $25 off the2 price of the gun to keep the barrel and feed neck do you think this is worth it?

Looks like you have everything covered. I'd say that if you are replacing the feedneck and barrel anyways, take the $25 discount that AGD is offering. Looks like you'll have a sweet setup. You will need autococker threaded barrels.

You won't need steel airlines. The macroline that comes with the air thru stock will just plug into the fitting that connects to the valve.

I was told macro line doesn't have the ability to hold the pressure my tank is capable of....
also the same individual told me i may need a regulator. I was always under the impression the tac one had a built in regulator of good quality?

the tac has a built in regulator. you need 800+ psi running to it.

visit www.pblegion.com and you can get the feedneck you are needing. PM RogueFactor there, and he can hook you up with any RPG product (he makes them).

Everything else looks good. (I think)

edit: If you are asking for oppinions....

-The remote line is wayyyyy overpriced. it should be 20-30 dollar range
-you dont need the anti fog spray for 20 bucks a bottle. RainX (found at our walmarts) is just as good, and is ~ 4-5 bucks a bottle
- loose the hopper, and get the new dye or empire ones (they will last alot longer than that)
- get ss hose with shrink wrap(to protect your anno). It will last longer than the microline, and is alot less likely to leak
-and the vest.....meh I dont like them, I love the dye attack packs. Alot less $$ than that and alot more comfortable.
-And the barrel....They are nice looking, but not my cup of tea. I insist on using titanium paintball barrels.

Well I'm very excited all my research has paid off, although i have to admit its a little unnerving when everything goes according to plan.

Oh, there is something else i need to know. RT's are "outlawed" on my home field, same with any e-triggers. The ULT upgrade, how does it work. In case i decide to invest in that as well.

a ult is a must on a mech mag. it is defiently worth the extra $$. It lessens the trigger pull substantially.

FYI: Mann Has done a bit of barrel testing in his time.
http://www.pbnation.com/showthread.php?t=2218018

I have owned a DeadlyWinds Fibur barrel and SS inserts and while Colin makes some really nice products at Deadlywinds I was never able to get the SS inserts to line up properly in the barrel.

I also use the Ti Longbow kit, if you can afford it it is worth a look.

One thing to mention about what I have found with the Ti Longbow kit; on cold days I need to use a strap wrench to remove the barrel from the marker :D

Titanium has a low coefficient of linear expansion which is equal to 5.0x10-6 inch per inch/°F, whereas that of stainless steel is 7.8x10-6, copper 16.5x10-6, and aluminum 12.9x10-6.I have used eggs on my Tac-One and for the most part are very happy with them. they have kept up with my shooting style. I have always like the looks of the egg on a Tac-One, it didn't sit too high on the marker, and you could pick them up fairly cheap. I did just splurge and picked up a new Dye Rotor last week and have yet to shoot any paint through it. I personal think a 400 round hopper with no tank on the marker is going to make things awful front heavy.

My Tac-One with a 68ci tank filled to 3000psi (it's what my local field has) can empty it's hopper (200 rounds) and 4 Dye Pods (160) for a total of 840 rounds. It's a pretty good balance of air to paint ratio, why carry more than you can shoot, in both air and paint. I have a second 68ci tank for the quick switch up and a paintball Jug to quick fill my Pods between games.

I see the vest, remote and 90ci tank and if you are going to carry around a 90ci tank you'll need the rest of that stuff to support it. I ran with a setup similar to that, 114ci with a flateline reg, but have gone back to using a CP razor drop forward and a 68ci tank. It's nice to get the weight of the marker but is is also nice to not have the marker tied to your body and the drop forward allows me to tuck my elbow in when popping out from the bunkers. I still use my Dagger vest for Pods, Radio and such and in the Big Games I'll use the tank pouch for my spare 68ci tank.

Oh and if you are going to run with a radio pick up a good throat mic (NOT a firefox). Here is what I got and make sure you order the one for your type of radio. http://cgi.ebay.com/Military-Throat-Mic-for-Motorola-Talkabout-Radio-NEW_W0QQitemZ380113548472QQcmdZViewItem that link is for a Motorola Talk About but he sells mics for other types.

The reason for the large tank is on occasion we go to crown land and play where no fill stations are available, this way i can play for the duration of the day without fear of running out of gas prematurely.

I know very little about this barrel, despite a lot of hours trying to learn more. I do know carbon fiber has the potential to have the best surface finish over SS, alum, brass. Tell me more about this alignment issue, and perhaps the type of barrel you yourself are using.

In regards to my hopper. not intending to use the nose... ever. The bps is higher than ill be able to shoot, maintenance is simple, uses less batteries, weighs second less (without the nose) of the lightest hopper on the market. and won't jam like the rotor, and the feed neck won't break like the empire.

OK that was a lot of reading my interpretation was Scepter & titanium long bow were the best in this test... never heard of either. I did look into both and the Scepter 05 is HELLA cheaper than titanium longbow. any thoughts?

The inserts in the Fibur barrel, at least for me, always favored one side so the ball would rub the barrel once it left the Freak insert and then hooked when it left the barrel due to the spin that was introduced to it. kinda like a flat line but you had no idea where the curve was. I always thought the was due the the one oring that was used in the Fibur barrel not giving the Freak insert a solid contact point in two places to align it in the barrel.

And that 90ci tank won't last you all day, you'll need to pick up a 88CF 3000psi SCUBA tank and do your own fills. It works slick and only cost about $5 at a dive shop to get your SCUBA filled.

Here are some good links to tell you all about it...

I have 3 scuba tanks and they are amazingly light.

They will fill to 3000psi and I can get alot of fills off of them.

Just me alone,. I can put 2 over my sholders and walk up my house and thats 3 flights of stairs right there.

Just make sure you are NOT getting Stainless Steel ones!! LOL,.. those are a bit more heavy than the ones I have!

again any one know why that scepter kit is so cheap?I have had the new version of the PowerLyte Scepter kit and it's not the same as the older kit. The way it screws together is not the same and it is that older style that appeared to have a better self cleaning feature. I still had issues with the new Scepter kit and it's inserts when trying to get them centered in the barrel. The inserts where very loose until the last turn to tighten them and unless you made sure you had them centered they would be like the Fibur barrel and favor one side.

Old Scepter kits are hard to find and are snatched up real quick, probably due to Mann's Barrel test... ;)

So with all the problems I have had with insert kits I have gone to two piece barrels and I have been very happy with them.

Again I would like to underline the fact that these are only my opinions and if you ask 100 people you will get 100 different responses.

Here's a thought for you... I find that most of the paint I use fits nicely in the .687 Ti Longbow back so instead of picking up the whole kit you could get just that back and a front. Also they make a cheaper aluminum version of the kit, but I don't know how the alum compares to the Ti version.

i REALLY like the suggestion i purchase just the barrel and add backs later.
I noticed the only place to buy these barrels is from SAKWORLD, if i was to order it here:
http://www.sakworldpaintball.com/tipalotiba.html

the options i would select would be:
GUN: Automag (im sorry guys im not sure what threading the TacOne uses still)
BORE: .687 or .690 (i use a lot of field paint, open to input here)
SIZE: 14" (I don't know if this is just the aluminum tip or the whole barrel?)
TIP COLOR: (I can handle this one)

If i order this particular barrel am i able to order the titanium controlled bore rears?

ONCE AGAIN the new scepter kits are being POOed on in the reviews so ill pass on that idea.

Just want to thank everyone for their posts, I know it can be frustrating working with the new guy... but i want everyone to know its VERY appreciated. A lot has changed since i got out of the sport six years ago...

To whom it may concern: I have settled on the aluminum 4 bore kit from titanium paintball.
