I have been out of paintball for about two years. Today, I decided to take a look at the Emag, and gave it a little inspection. That is when I noticed that the gold cap had came off the trigger magnet, and some sort of dust/magnet stuff was there, loose. I tried to take a picture, but I'm no photographer, and it was kind of hard to see.

Anyway, my question is do I need to replace it with these:

Or a whole new trigger:

Also, any idea why this would happen? The marker was stored in a marker bag, in a closet with little humidity. Thanks!

Huh... weird... in any event, you should be able to just but the magnets unless someone much smarter than I has a good reason not to... strange! Best of luck to you

I thought it was quite strange too! If I just buy the magnets, how do I go about taking the old one out of the trigger, and getting the new one in?

use a lighter to heat it up until the glue melts, mine did the same thing, a quick replace and life is good

Actually, you will need this (http://store.airgundesignsusa.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=catalog.prodInfo&productID=375&categoryID=24).

For the top magnet, is there any magnet stronger than the emag magnet?

If you only have 1 top magnet, the next best would be 2 ;)

Does 3 even fit?

One of my mag have 1 top magnet, the other have 2 magnet

But the trigger is not as snappy as i would like it to be yet.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Just scrape off that crap with an allen key and get onto the field.

got to agree with this guy^^^ , i've seen this on other E Mag magnets ( 1 is stuck to my toolbox now ) The outer coating ( gold colored ? ) comes off , the Magnet may loose a little strength & you may have to screw it in a little BUT " If it ain't broke, don't fix it. "
