I have seen several pics of guns with a Z-Grip with a machined or grinded foregrip extender. What is the best way to go about doing this? Thanks.

I just looked at mine closely, looked at what needed to go, and ground that sucker down :D . Now it fits perfectly. I used a grinding wheel... you can also use a Dremel, but that's a wee bit more interesting, hehe :)

Here's mine. This was done with a hack saw and a needle file. Just mark the limits of what you want to cut out with a scribe, then use the hack saw and cut slits through the area you want to remove. Then you can pound out the thin pieces of aluminum and a use a flat needle file to smooth it down to where it fits properly. Use a hand hack saw, not an electric reciprocating saw.
