I have a small leak coming from the velocity hole of mag. If i turn it up, i get more of a leak.What o-ring is it?

Might be a reg piston.

Chrono your marker, if it's shooting hot then turn the velocity down until the leak stops and then you should be good. If it's not shooting hot... mind telling us what kind of valve it is?

What valve/bolt/airsource are you using?

If it has a LvL 10 that is also likely a cause of the leak, if you have the longest spring try putting in the shortest one.

Also, could a bit of dirt on the reg seat cause it?

Yes. A leaking reg seal would cause over-pressurization, and the leak out the rear.

This sounds like more of a bad piston though. A leaking reg seat would be more of a constant fast leak though I would think.

thanks guys. Its a classic valve with lvl 7 bolt. Got it in with a pagage deal, and thats how it was shooting when i put it on a gun. Ima tinker with it 1 day this week and see what i come up with.

Check your velocity first. You may be higher than the safe operating pressure which is why the overpressure device is releasing air.

So, Classic valve w/ LvL 7, problem is either high velocity or bad reg seat.

Hey,

I just got done with this issue on a used classic mag I just acquired. I could chrony her at no more than about 240 fps without leakage out the back. After changing out the reg seat and ensuring valve wear debris was completely clear, I replaced the reg piston assembly, which solidly fixed the problem.

You may be able to fix the problem by turning your existing piston screw in to allow it to let higher pressure through. More experienced mag owners advice will be helpful here, but I'd try it before buying a new one.
