Hey guys. Is there a way to figure out if a valve is a true x-valve or just a painted RT? I just got a really good deal on an "x-valve" and i'm doubting it's authenticity. Thanks! Andrew

I thought only the X's were all aluminum.
The RT's only have the reg (back) aluminum.

Post a pic. We should be able to tell right away. Besides the difference in material (steel vs. aluminum), the x-valve and RT are the same.

Did it come with a Level 10 bolt? New x-valves come with a level 10.

...painted? I highly doubt you've got a painted R/T Pro valve.

If you're worried because the lazer-engraving doesn't look good, well, that's just what happens, it tends to fade out. Also, the first generation of X-valve was labeled "R/T Pro X", then "X-Valve" then finally just "X" and they're all just as much an X-valve as any other... Does your valve have level 10 installed?

What is your serial #? (just the letters and first 2 digits)

Also, how much did you pay?

I'm puzzled cause the "X" seems to be engraved over the first owners initials. But the serial number is VV05. Not sure about the level 10

most paint can be scratched off with a fingernail
I belive that there was a run of RT Pro X-valves.
But yea, post a pic, we can tell right away

It's real if the serial starts with VV.

Especially on polished SS :tard:

is it VV05 or VV0005? If it is VV05..."houston...we have a problem".

I had asked if he could give the letters and first two #s on the valve... I wanted to know if it was an X-valve (VV) and what generation (#s) without making him share the serial #.

Exactly what I told him when he PMed me.... He said it had "the owners initials" behind the X. Clearly an early "R/T X" branded valve.

Thanks again guys. Still can't figure out why "Spantol" (the previous owners name/AO Screen name) can be under the "X". I PMed him a couple times post purchase and there has been no response. Thanks though!
