Has anyone tried using the Warp mod on a halo?

if you are concerned about the warp feed keeping up, im almost positive that its capable of doing so. but other than that, i personally havent tried it out yet :D

I think he means running dual 9volts in a halo.

Every thing you ever needed to know about a halo thread (http://www.pbnation.com/showthread.php?t=1599125)

I know about the dual 9v setup. I'm looking at running 12v over the system.

Ok well i just made a new 12v harness. Couldn't find my old one, think I used it for part on another project. :D

Anyways....I don't remember if it's normal but does the regulator get warm to the touch when it's connected? I can't remember if it did.

Everything is working but it gets pretty hot. The Warp Feed runs great, its lot faster but the harness is worrying me.

I'm using the correct Voltage Reg (Part# 7812A) and wires are connected correctly. I'm just a little leery about how hot the regulator is getting. Anyone with experience on the matter plz let me know.

Thanks.

Did you put in capacitors as suggested in Rob's page?

A capacitor  I don't remember having a capacitor in the last one I built. I had wire schematics for all this stuff but after the move I can't seem to find it or most of the stuff I been working on. So i basicly went by memory so who knows.

I can't go to that site at work, could you copy/paste what it says. I'd like to see/know what this capacitor is actually doing, where it goes and what the Part # is.

Thanks.

A) Voltage IN Snap This Snap is wired in to the system just as it should be. 18v input from Emag battery. B) Voltage OUT Snap, this needs to be wired so that its like the Top of a 9v battery, Round post +, Crown -. That's why they are colored differently from Snap A Here we will be crossing wires, the colors are correct for these wires & connections. Center leg of the Reg is Ground C1 & C2 are 100mF Capacitors they act like a line conditioner for the reg. This solved several current problems I had.

WoW?!?!?!

Bro...This guy isn't doing the typical 12v Warp Feed mod. He's using his EMag battery to power his gun, Warp Feed and Revolution without using 9 volts. Reason he's using capacitors is due to power issues running everything at the same time...Basically he's getting dirty power to the components and using capacitors as a filter and to keep the power constant over all his gear

Same concept as the warp feed mod but what I'm putting together is a plain Jane setup like this.

This is the only pic I could find of it but now you have a visual of what it looks like.

I just need to know if it normal for the 12v Voltage Regulator to get really warm. (the thing at the top)

Right, sorry. Brain dead this morning.

You might poke around his sight this evening. He should have something more on what you have.

I honestly can't remember at this point. I think it's supposed to get warm, but I don't remember how warm is too warm.

I got it answered. Thanks. And yes it will get a little warm.
