2nd Annual Clareball Charity Event - SoCal

Ladies and Gentlemen. Boys and Girls. Mark your calendars. Tell your significant others. Cause its time again for Clareball!!!

Last year we had an impressive 50 people show up. What was even more impressive was the over $800 we raised for charity. Not bad for a player sponsored and put together event.

All proceeds went to autismspeak. http://www.autismspeaks.org/

So with that said here are the details.

Camp Pendleton paintball park.

Parking:
Lets all park at the upper lot in the bottom right corner. Or close to it. Just try to be on the right side.

Other important info:


Whoever is driving needs to have:

Valid and current Registration and Insurance for the vehicle as well as a Drivers License

If you don't have ALL 3 of the above then you will be denied access and possibly shot.

I am not joking about the denied access part. They are very very strict. So if your car does not have valid registration and insurance then you need to take a car that does.

Bring your own paint. No Pink Fill

There were planning talks last year and the reason it was on a "Sunday" (Jan 25th) was because Clare was unable to attend a Saturday event.

January 30th is a Saturday so I guess things have changed. This is a charity event that supports a charity of her choice. This is more the reason for her to "grace" us than any other!

It is just annoying that as one of the originators of this event concept and major prize contributor last year, I am unable to attend.

I hope that Trackers shoulder heals but we can always use a good photographer. . .;)

Man I haven't been on the forums since I got married right after the last Clareball event. I just have to say that I miss you guys and really wish I could make this one too.

Married life is awesome, but it's really hard talking the wife into letting me fly down from Portland, OR to SoCal to play paintball. She's been great about me playing up here with my old team, but I think a trip like this would be asking too much.

--Shots will be fired quick draw style on my command at 10 paces. Which means you get 1 ball to take out the other opponent.
--I will supply each shooter 1 extra shot in case both opponents miss on their first shot.
--If both shooters are hit with their first shot then the most lethal hit will win. (EX: A head shot is better then a toe shot)

-Overall winner of the challenge will receive 1 AGD Super Knife (http://www.automags.org/forums/showthread.php?t=247689)

Since the Super Knives will not be ready at Clareball the winner will be mailed his prize when they are completed.

I laid awake most of the night just thinking about the best use of time to fit all the fun in.

The earlier people show up the better so we can take care of the paperwork and money.



EVERYBODY will check in and pay at the MAIN office. So look for where everybody else is paying.

--Tell them you are here for Clareball!!!

--After you pay go to the upper parking lot and find me. I will have my BEO jersey on that says "smoothice" on the back. I will be near my car (blue chevy tahoe).

--I will check you off my list just so I know who made it. This is also when we can talk about food. I will collect pizza money in the morning. I'm sure Domino's has some specials going on as always. Large pizza for $6 or something like that. You can either pay me for a whole pizza or half a pizza.

--I plan on having the first games start at 9:30-10:00. If you miss the first game just wait for us to get back for the next game. I plan on playing in the first game!!! I missed the first 4 games last year waiting for guys to show up. This year...you can wait for me ;)

--Before we break for Lunch we will take a group photo.

--We will do Lunch and raffle around 12:00-12:30

Ok, help me out...

Who had the blue x-mag with the tuna battery cover and loaned me the 1/8" allen wrench? I found it when I got home. :(

After never using it, thinking about giving it back a few times when we were not at the cars, and feeling like I was forgetting something when I left, this silly thing is going to haunt me. I must mail it home. :argh:

Just wanted to say had a great time at this event. Went to a fantastic cause and am glad we raised a sizeable amount of cash.

I got to meet a lot of great AO'ers and a few unsortly characters (j/k).

Thanks again John for helping me with my inability to tech mags.

Thanks to Smoothice for my therapy session at dinner and being a good listener. I feel real progress has been made my friend and I'm in a much better place now mentally!

Thanks to Rudz for bustin' my balls any chance he gets.
