Automag twist lock worn out?

I have two barrels, an AA and a stock emag barrel and neither will really lock in to place. Does that mean the twist lock assembly is worn out?

there's a hex screw in the twistlock assembly, tr6y screwin that in to increase tension, not too much tho

I tried that, didn't help.

have they always been loose? or just started noticing it?
could be the barrel o-rings are getting worn n the barrels feel loose from that
