View Full Version : New Gun, Problems

Here is my story, i have browsed looking to find a similar stuation, but it was super time consuming, so i am here asking YOUR help.

I Bought a used mini/auto mag(not sure which it is cuz its just the rail) with a ULE vert feed body, an x valve and level 10 bolt (duh) with a double trigger NO ult kit. When i got the gun, like an excited little kid i gassed it up, so sad to hear a leak coming out the back (where the velocity adjustment is). but this leak only happens if i dry fired the gun holding it towards the ground. I brought it to my teams next practice/game and had my Mag experts look it over. They replaced one of the Tiny orings on one of the halves (i don't know alot about these guns yet). They also said that it could have been the velocity, because when we adjusted it, it stopped leaking for a bit. With the back leak fixed (except at gas up every once and a while) i went out to play.
Once again sad to hear a leak, but this time it was out the barrel... The gun was shooting GREAT so i didn't really care. But i ran out of air towards the end of our last game and realized how much i wouldn't like having a noisy little leak.
Being somewhat a problem solver i tried to find what was causing the leak when i got home. It seems to me that it is a problem with the trigger. when the trigger is all the way forward or too far back, it leaks if i put a minute amount of pressure on the trigger it doesn't leak. I took my grip off and saw that i can adjust the cylinder that the trigger pushes in by twisting it maybe?

well this is what i know. i LOVE THE GUN, its light, shoots dead on, and is freakishly pretty... so if we could "make it go away" (the leak that is) it would be much appreciated.

If it leaks down the barrel with the trigger at rest, you have a leaky powertube o-ring.
If it leaks down the barrel with the trigger pulled, you have a leaky on/off (top) o-ring.

When you pull the trigger, the on/off goes to "off" shutting off the gas supply to the bolt right before the sear releases the bolt which flies forward, expels the gas in the dump chamber and is then reset by the bolt spring. Actually he probably just needs another carrier size for his o-ring in his level 10 from the sound of it, i hope you got a whole bunch of little brass pieces with the gun. Here's a link to how to tune the level 10: http://www.automags.org/resource/level10/index.shtml

Since you and the mag are new, I have to ask...

You are not putting CO2 through it are you?

lol... no i knew that much. new to mags, not paintball.. did some research and realized my large CO2 canister collection would be obsolete... but it is worth it for what it offers... the gun doesn't leak ALWAYS when the trigger is at rest position. It is really weird. If it is anywhere in the right position at rest its fine, its just at a specific place.

If it does both, you need to replace both. For the leak at rest, moving your carrier o-ring down to the next smaller size might do it, if not, break in a new carrier o-ring.
