View Full Version : The Z-Grip Contest!!!

Maghog
09-11-2009, 02:27 PM
I don't know if we've done this before, but it might be fun. Let's see some of those pretty Z-grip Mags on here, then we'll vote out a winner. I just got done (before my saw broke) with making some Z triggers and I happen to have one left. The winner takes it.
Howzat!

Voting will be next weekend. I'll get a pic of the trigger up before then.

Dan@Triggernomics

P.S. Mods, if I'm not allowed to do this, sorry....and delete this post.

I think my friend has pics of when he had the garage fire and his two z-griped RT Pro mags went down :(

The frames were just lumps of molten whatever they are, the warp from one had completely melted, and the body on one was actually warped :(

Yep I think thats the one.
I agree about the barrel sock, its not helping the looks of an otherwise outstanding classic RT.
But it does look like it has a supercharger under the hood though (pneu-modded) .

The Drop Kick works amazingly with the Z. I have a black one coming to finish it off.

The Geddon has Lukes on/off knob and looking at getting his off-set Z-Grip rail due to the uncomfortableness of the macro-fitting on my wrist. This thing weighs over 10lbs (with out paint) so it's borderline carpal tunnel

My saving grace is the angle of the tank. 85% the weight is rested on the shoulder/chest so it's not too bad.

The adapter up top was from a clamping feedneck that broke off from a unfortunate bunker slide/slam. :headbang: Was actually a good thing, now I have a Angel threaded vert Warp adapter

Shirow
09-14-2009, 10:42 AM
Nice! Doesn't look quite as bizarre without the angled qloader but still pretty crazy. I feel you on the weight, I've been moving a lot of my stuff over to ULE just to try to scrape off a bit of weight.. I even got a tingle in my wrist the other week from lugging my heavy old mag around.

Ando
09-14-2009, 11:00 AM
If you haven't tried an angled rail like the dropkick or stiletto, you should give one a go. Most of the weight sits right on your shoulder and you use the tank like a pivot point. Makes playing in the front lines/trenches a lot easier.

This one's got something...if it only was taken with the right background.
I really think that the makeup of the picture can help present a gun better. I don't need a floor or a fence disrupting the beauty of a piece of artwork. A nice piece of colored cloth can suffice to make a gun look really pretty.
Ever notice that most MOTM's are really nice shots?

i have a drop kick and i've used it on a lot of my markers, but i've never once considered using it on my z-mag, i think i'll have to try it after seeing it. and i love all theses goofy setups :D

edit: i count 16 so far, that means there are 184 unaccounted for, not including the cripple z frames. i know one has part of the handgaurd cut and another pneu'd one that's not accounted for, stop hiding them!
