R.I.P Dear AGD Lion Cougar. Killed by a lousy hit-and-run jerk...

She got the AGD endorsement at the 2003 Amateur Open, and her public debut, after a many months long AO contest to design the graphic.

Jon took her all over the eastern seaboard, and to school, becoming a regular sight.

To hell with Jon, what happened to the X-mag in the trunk?!? Or all the other mags?

(I'm kidding about John of course; I'm glad he's OK)

But seriously, that thing isn't "totalled" just "insurance company totalled". It should definately be offered for sale to the AO masses in case someone wants to buy it for restoration purposes. I'd be interested provided somebody bought the 'Vette I've been trying to sell lately. Has it already been crushed, or is it still in that junkyard? I'm seriously upset by this news.

RIP, Cougar. I'm glad Jon is OK and I hope the hit-and-run jerk gets what's coming to him/her. :(

I always liked those 1999-2002 Cougars.

guy prolly realized how much it'd cost him if he didnt run... assumin of course he doesnt get caught:/

friend of mine was a victim of a hit and run, but lady luck was smilin on him cuz he ran into the girl that hit him at a gas station, with the messed up car she used to hit him with

but yea, first thought that came to mind from the pic: "what happened to the treasures hidden in the trunk??"

as for the car... the rear axle is gone, fixing that'd cost a bit much imo, but I bet you can take off the fenders, hodd, trunk etc and stick it on another silver cougar

So wait, was the car parked someplace and it was found like this? Or was Jon actually driving and caught a glimpse of who hit him?

They consider that to be totaled enough it has to be scrapped?! Give me a break, that's minor damage.

BiNumber3

if the damage got through to the frame it'd be considered totaled, you can't exactly fix the frame of a car cheaply

If you have ever worked on a cougar you would think different. Everything is packed super tight in the whole car.

It's really hard to say without digging into it. They totaled my 94 accord cause they thought there 'might' be frame damage.

Turns out it was just a bent stabilizer arm.

wow that majorly sucks my old toyota was totaled for not only being a toyota but it had a small dent on the A piller. I really do hope something will be remade in the old AGD cars memory... a new AGD car?? :ninja:
BTW wat was in the trunk?!!?!?!?!?

BTW wat was in the trunk?!!?!?!?!?

There were plexi-glass panel covering the floor and sides with a selection of markers and parts AGD made. I believe I remember a red/silver emag, a blue RT/Pro, individual black red silver and blue ULE bodies, a Y-frame, an intelliframe, a warpfeed, a flatline, some parts kits and a level 10 kit... All that was just sort of built into the trunk in little cubbies covered in the aforemention plexi-glass.

It also had a sweet sound system with a purple Xmag on top that rotated, and had a discoball in the feedneck.

that is a sweet little car. Definitely had some thought put into it. The trunk is certainly pimped out lol. Tho I do hope that Xmag wasn't there during the crash :(

Of course, I'm sure the Mag is one of those things that could survive a car crash anyway.

Update: Yes, all the display, sound system, lighting, and computer control was present and installed.

Pictures show little to no damage to anything in the interior.

I was surprised to see this post.

Here are the details of what happened. I was driving home from the gym when I was t-boned by a white Pontiac 2 door grand am or grand prix between 93-96 according to witnesses.

One witness actually gave chase and reported over 90 mph speeds on local roads.

The insurance company declared the vehicle a total loss because of the rear axle.

Thanks Army for honoring her memory. I bought a replacement, but nothing will ever take her place. Honestly one of the most comfortable cars for long drives.

There you are!!! PM me with your address, if you can. I can't send Christmas cards without it!

Hope the rest of that pizza was put to good use a few weeks ago. It was good seeing you again!

The mags, tank, stereo equipment, etc were ok.

the body was banged up but even worse was the underside which is why the car was declared a total loss.

The impact was so hard that the rear axle was destroyed.

Hey, glad to hear that you are okay; Collisions with those kind of speeds often end up must worse.

It was an AGD Tech's car. AGD 'pimped' it out. Basically his personal car was just a bad *** showcase he could show off at events.

I'm sure theres more pics somewhere but...

Jon had his Cougar, they decided to turn it into a show vehicle for events. LoadSM5 made the AGD decals for the body. Jon had a display case put into the back under the hatch. He also had a pretty nice stereo installed.

He'd park it at the booth at events, on an angle with the rear facing the crowds. It was a good attention getter, and I think he kept an X-Mag, Intelliframe, and something else in the trunk display case.

If you went to IAO in the mid-2000's you would have seen it.
