Any idea why the RT Pro valves take a .765 pin instead of the standard .750 one?

If I am currently using a .750 pin in a RT Pro, would I see any advantage going up to the .765 pin?


Also, what length pin do the X-mags use?

First you would not see any benefit to a longer pin (unless you want a long trigger pull?). X, Retro, and RT valves all like input pressure of around 900-950 pounds and a pin length of .738-.749. A pin length of .738 is almost full auto do to bounce at that pressure. Given this an emag pin is WAY to short to be of use. We are not talking about much material off the pin so take a little off (always use calipers to measure) at a time and see where you like it.

Not true emags have special requirements, and thus have a shorter pin (sear on/off is different)

E-Mag:

On/Off pin: .712" w/ brass top and double o-ring top.
.725" w/ aluminum top and single o-ring top.

Trigger Rod: 2.125"

Solenoid Plunger Rod: 3.005"

RT-Pro:

On/Off Pin: .765"

Trigger Rod: 1.985"

Retro Valve/X-Valve/Classic RT:

On/Off Pin: .750"

Automag Classic/Minimag:

On/Off Pin: .750"

Trigger Rod: 1.985"

Level 10:

Bolt stem: 2.010""

So are you saying a "emag" has a different on/off pin length then an "Xmag"? Cause that is the answer ssp reaper was giving...

Correct. I was merely stating the on/off pin is the same in an Emag as in an Xmag. Some people feel they must go above and beyond however....

So I could take my Retro-MiniMag & either find a shorter pin or cut one down plus bump my pressure up with the rod adjusted right and more or less have a full auto mag cause of the bounce?

Yes you can shorten your on/off on an RT,X, or Retro with enough input pressure to make it full auto (does were the sear though)

Although I know that mags go crazy with higher input pressure, the whole reason I want to play with pin lengths is because I want to keep the tank reg at the stock 850psi output but get the best reactivity possible.

I have multiple guns, and only a pair of tanks. I don't want them to be gun specific.


The whole X-mag question is directed at this:


I would go no shorter than .712
There is a reason the Emag uses a .712 pin and not anything less.
Unless you own an Xmag of course :D
