Why on earth would someone buy a sandana for $1000.00 ?

http://www.pbnation.com/showthread.php?t=2996992&highlight=trunk

Or even $650.00 ?

http://www.pbnation.com/showthread.php?t=3282789&highlight=trunk

I guess value is in the eye of the buyer.

:wow:

I wonder if mommy and daddy know what "paintball stuff" exactally is going on their credit card. No person in their right mind pays anything more than 50 bucks for a specialty colored dew rag.

I've never understood collectors or idiots who pay for old crap just because it's old. Now tinkering I understand but this is just flat out ridiculous. Who are these people and how do they have this kind of liquid cash to waste?

Liquid cash?

You're gonna need solid gold for that!

Absolutely R-tarded. The only way ANY sandana would be worth anything close to $1k is if Megan Fox wiped with it... That guy should get bent, just for thinking he deserves anything more than $50.
On a lighter note, I just realized that most of my recent posts have been quite negative. I should be completely over my strep throat tomorrow, so maybe I will stop being such a sour-puss. Merry Christmas, guys!

The only thing that bothers me about stuff like this is I'm not the one selling the crap!

More power to the seller!

I honestly feel like I exist in a world outside this stuff... if I went to a field and someone was parading his $1000 sandana I would want to kill myself.

Tom should throw up some of his old used PB underwear and see what he can get for it.

Makes me wonder what weird crap I have is worth change..

Well, I can kinda understand it if it's something like a unique, one off marker or whatever... but for a friggen sandana? Apparently it is 'so legit' whatever that is supposed to mean.

'Legit' means that it's recognized by 12 year olds to have been tried and tested by the players of old who knew how to rough it and not only repair but clean their own markers- A task of which they could only dream of aspiring to.

I have a sandana I got back in Germany in the 90's but it has skulls on it.

I thought our SFL club was l33t but these guys take the cake.

So it's not 'legitimately retarded' because that was my 2nd guess

This made me look at what I had. It was a Battle Boy in Real Tree pattern.
I still cant believe people would pay that much :tard:

Meh, based on some of the info he provided from Sandana this seems like a legit collectors item.

Items (anything really) incorrectly branded (that slipped past QC) are typically worth some money. So I could see how this could fetch a handsome sum to an avid collector of paintball gear.

As a non collector I (personally) feel it's a retarded price to ask for such an item...but that's just me. To each their own.

Er, exactly? Not my cup of tea, but I'd figure you to understand that things are worth whatever someone will pay for them.

Apparently sandana collecting and trading is a big thing on PBN.
Well know moderator and AKA enthusiast jdev has one listed for $415.00.

Asking price and buying price are 2 different things. Some people have old sandanas and they put up ridiculous prices trying to capitalize on the Agg kiddies and prove P.T. Barnum correct.

I have a white skull and crossbones I bought for $7 when I first started playing that I've thought of doing that with.

Whenever there's a shmock willing to pay that much, I guess...

I'll certainly hold on to mine for as long as possible and maybe sell them in 10 years or so for $2,000! LOL If I get lucky, I might get a straight trade for a SFL Mag

Bring SFL's, X-mags plus cash, or a pair of Tom Kaye's lightly used boxers.

I've always thought this was just a huge inside joke that never died. I still cannot believe anyone would be that mindblowingly stupid. There are actual, legitimate collectibles and antiques out there that don't cost that much money.

When is a piece of paper with a picture of a guy with a bat worth several thousand dollars...

Sandanas are just like any other collectible.

Unless it's the magical sandana of invisibility, I would have to pass. If my wife found out that I spent that much on anything I would be on the couch for a week. :ninja:
