View Full Version : Orbium 3, TI Longbow, Sanchez Machine???

Ok, so I'm looking to upgrade to either a Orbium 3 or a TI Longbow. I've done a lot of research and these seem to be by far the best kits (thanks especially to Mann for the testing data on pbnation). Anyhow, I have some questions for you all:

1. Does anyone but Sakworldpaintball sell the TI lonbow new? (trying to get some price comparisons)

2. Does anyone sell the Orbium 3 new?

3. Is Sanchez Machine even in business anymore? If so, I can't get a hold of them or find one of their kits new. Links would be nice.

4. Does anyone have experience with both barrels? If so, what was your personal experience?

5. If the Orbium is gone :( then that just leaves me with the TI Longbow, is there any advantage to getting the titanium over the stainless steel backs? I currently use a PPS brass, so weight is not an issue, I just don't know if the finish is any different between the 2 to justify the huge price difference.

Any other input is welcome. Thanks for the help!

What would lead you to believe they are "by far the best kits"?

Mann's review, among many others, I've heard nothing but positive things about either of those kits. I know a bit more about the Longbow than I do about the Orbium, and the way they hone the barrel is amazing, I've seen those things in action and they are freaking accurate as can be. But please feel free to offer up any suggestions, I've seen a lot of barrels at work, but I would be foolish to claim I've seen them all.

What about Mann's test tell you that? If mann's test told us anything, it's that most barrel kits perform within a small range of each other.

I would strongly recommend the Kaner kit at $80, as I said in the other thread, that's a deal that can't be beat.

Seems like a good deal, I thought Mann's test showed that the Longbow had tighter groupings than almost anything else, I should go back and look at it again. I really don't have any personal experience with the Kaner, which is my hesitation in purchasing it, but by all means it sounds like you have more experience than I do with the different barrels. Elaborate.

I love my longbow. And it shoots sparks out of the end! That alone makes it the best :)

What does that do to the paint? :p

Posted this on PBL, but since it appears you're here right now...

I'm sorry, but I don't have any input as to which barrel is better. Though I do have some info on Sanchez Machine. They are a forum sponsor over on customcockers.com. Here is their forum home http://customcockers.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=29 There is also a thread on there about a new run of Orbium 3s http://customcockers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=15231 I didn't really take a close look at it, but I figured you could if you wanted to. I own an OTP G-1 barrel, and from what I understand, SM manufactured those for OTP. It is a great barrel, and I'm sure that their barrels just got better and better.

In my experience quality of paint has much more impact on accuracy then the barrel. I'd say save money and get the Kaner kit.

Does a Kaner shoot sparks? No? They why even consider it? Huh?

5x the cost is nothing compared to shooting fire.

They're good friends with Sanchez, and have always gotten me what I needed from him. I would say they are your best bet with getting the Orbium. :D

Is it me or does paint seem like it's getting smaller?

Kaner bore sizes: .682, .684, .687, .689, and .691

Shift kit bore sizes: 0.685, 0.689, 0.693, 0.696

I don't know about that .696.

Actually, once I found out that Sanchez made the Kaner, I just bought it, fortunately right before the price went up to $130. Main reason I didn't go with the shift kit was because the bore sizes seemed unrealistic

Agreed. Get good paint, match it to the bore, that's the most important part.

As for unrealistic bore sizes, yeah I don't think I've ever used my .695, and only my .693 once. Most often it's the .687, .689, and .691 inserts.

Right, but some say he didn't make all Kaners.

I agree with Hexis, you gotta go Titanium if you play at night at all. There is nothing like shooting static electric sparks out the end of your barrel! And its not a gimic, you really can see them. I need to try and pick up a TI boomstick back for D-day this year... Had one a few years ago, dont know why I ever sold it.
